43 homers in the final 16 games is still crazy. Pitching was phenomenal and kept most games from getting close. Our freshman starters looked like seasoned vets. < 1.5 era in deciding games. Defensively we didn’t allow much. About a million story lines between the Branch and Mercurius bros, the Wilits family, Tok and of course Skip. What a magical run.

That series did kind of start OU into its downward spiral. It took a lot out of them I think...
Then they kept having a lot of misfortune in games along with a lot of decisions simply backfiring.
Then all of the sudden in the second Citadel game... they just had a bunch of random good things happen to them. And after that... they just seemed destined for good fortune.

What makes this sweeter is we lost to NC in the North Carolina Regional last year. Got our payback on the biggest stage.
