Completely agree. I don’t think anyone looking for a coach could get him though. Probably a Louisville lifer. Otherwise he would be a hot name every year.

The game will be close, and both teams have a decent chance of making the playoffs regardless of whether they win or lose.

I've seen predictions of Louisville winning the ACC and making the CFP.

Ole Miss will not make the playoffs if they to lose to Louisville. Likely heading for 7-5 or 8-4 season with a season opening loss.
My model likes Ole Miss up to -8.5.

I think Ole Miss will have an edge on the DL. Louisville's replacing 4/5 of their OL. The QB is also very inexperienced with less than 40 career passes in 3 seasons as a back-up at Ohio State. Ole Miss returns a lot on the DL including some All American and All SEC talents in Echols and Franklin. The QB appears to be a good runner so Ole Miss will have to account for that.

I've been thinking for awhile now that Louisville beats Ole Miss. Ole Miss is all focused on LSU and you know they've been game planning for Kiffin and LSU all offseason.
Meanwhile, Louisville has a joke of a schedule. They have two tough games early in Ole Miss and SMU, but after that, nothing. They don't play Miami, Notre Dame or Clemson (who I think recovers this year, not great but an 8 - 4 or 9 - 3 season) this year.
They play Stanford, NC State and Florida State in the ACC, all three which proved yesterday to be jokes. They play Villanova and Kentucky (with a first year HC) outside of the conference, which again will be easy wins.
Ole Miss and SMU will be the only games they won't be favored. And they could possibly be favored against SMU.
Brohm is one of those coaches that just knows how to play the big game. Brohm and Louisville have had all offseason to gameplan for Ole Miss. Almost every year Brohm beats a team he shouldn't. I still remember when Purdue with Brohm ran Ohio State out of Ross-Ade Stadium. Domination that Ohio State never experiences. The only reason people are assuming Ole Miss wins this game is due to Trinidad Chambliss. It's still a team game though.
Where Brohm can fail is that he and his teams play up and play down to some opponents. It seems every year he loses to a team he has no business losing to.
With that said, this type of game is where Brohm shines. Brohm will absolutely outcoach and expose Golding for the fraud he is.

Cardinals are ranked, have excellent coach, and are sneaky good enough to be a problem but I’m guessing we win it something like 20-10.

You're downright silly if you think you're even remotely holding a Brohm led Louisville team to 10 points.
I'm not saying Ole Miss can't win, they can. I see Louisville winning by 10. But if Ole Miss wins, it'll be more of a 38 - 31 or 35 - 28 type game.

Call me crazy, but I just think our D is going to be much better than a lot of people expect. Especially on the line, which I hope will neutralize the Brown brothers.

That is a good point on that side of the ball I haven't considered. I'm interested to see how Louisiville's secondary matches up with the OM's receivers. Another test is going to be how much the Cardinal's line can pressure Chambliss and control the edges. Going to be a difficult task, but if Louisville holds the Rebels to under 22-25 points, they have to like their chances.
