On Aug. 25, the SEC made it clear that no former professionals were welcome in the conference. The Ole Miss Men’s Basketball team added one that day and another just three days later. Forward Micah Handlogten and guard Corey Stephenson both spent time in the NBA Summer League with the Utah Jazz and Detroit Pistons, respectively. Now, it remains to be seen if they will be allowed to play for Ole Miss.
Former Florida International Panther and Detroit Piston Stephenson signed to Ole Miss on the same day as the SEC ordinance. Stephenson started all 31 of FIU’s games in the 2025-26 season, averaging 18 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game.

Jeff Goodman tweeted out that this was a good addition for Ole Miss after he said that Will Wade sucked for college basketball for doing the same thing. The hypocrisy in this whole SEC vs LSU thing will never, EVER be topped.

Meh. We didn’t have players go to a judge to block the SEC (we blocked the NCAA for Trinidad so don’t try) from trying to enforce its own rules.
Y’all made your bed

I mean with basketball we can trace this exceptionalism shite all the way back to Dale Brown.
I know people around here like to troll & normally it’s all good and fun, but I am sick of the conference playing fricking politics with our program.
If everyone is going to follow the rules, great. Otherwise, see you in court.
The shenanigans coming from the SEC office and its media affiliates are approaching a point where I legitimately am considering if it would benefit us to find another arrangement with another conference.
Never thought I’d say that, but here we are. This crossed the rubicon of being innocent fun a long time ago.
shite is personal now.

So you can break the conference bylaws now? Because the players don’t have an TRO? Interesting.

Must be nice being so pitied by the SEC that they'll ignore the NCAA's rulings because it's Little Ole Miss

Nothing funnier than passing off the guys whose mascot is still the civil war as the sympathetic ones.
Hope they enjoy it while it lasts, because it won’t.

Bad decision but odd that an LSU fan would bring it up, glass house and all.

What exactly is odd about pointing to the obvious fact that Sankey & his media affiliates are not running full court press on Missouri or Ole Miss?
The same way they didn’t say shite about any of the other schools with 5 for 5 football TROs until LSU doing it caused them to invent a new rule & go fricking nuclear?
Is the point really going over your head here or are you just trolling

If tweet fails to load, click here. These two tweets summarize perfectly what LSU has been dealing with nationally for months. It's fricking priceless.
