So if he didn't fight it, my assumption is he did not want to go through discovery.

I believe ole Miss fans are right about him being overrated but he is still good enough to where they might not be able to get a better coach. So they’re in a tough spot.

Lane Kiffin being overrated is yet to be determined, but will be within the first two years of his tenure at LSU, that's for damn sure. He was significantly underrated while at Ole Miss in my opinion, and he will never get enough credit for taking Ole Miss out of the basement and into significant relevancy over the past few years, especially last year. People laugh at LSU for hiring him, but I say he was the hottest coaching candidate for a few years because of what he did for Ole Miss. Will he fail at LSU, Brian Kelly style? Potentially, especially if he approaches LSU with the mindset that he'll win just because it's LSU. Will he win a national title at LSU? If he stops going for it on deep in his own territory 4th downs, I think yes he will. He's a damn good coach and LSU is super lucky to have snagged him.

Deep down, I think Kiffin knows how lucky he is to be in charge of the program at LSU now too, and I think he is motivated by the reputation the public has given him. He won't stop until he wins a national title at LSU in my opinion. He's hungry, he's very talented, and I don't think LSU fans will regret supporting him in the long run.

Zero Ole Miss fans thought Kiffin was overrated, until he left.

In fact, they often argued the opposite.

That’s funny. You may be right. Although fans from other teams have definitely been saying it for a while.

Probably, and it's probably true to some extent. There's a lot of hype around Kiffin and most of it, both positive and negative, isn't really based on reality.

For instance, Kiffin's performance at Ole Miss is probably a little overrated because they faced some pretty easy schedules.

I don't expect Kiffin to be some great head coach, I'm just expecting an above-average guy that has LSU in playoff contention more often than not. That shouldn't be too much to expect in a world where LSU is spending as much as they are, and there's a 12 team playoff.

Agree completely with this post. He built the current OLE MISS football program. They screamed at games they wanted him back. Now, they follow him 24 HOURS A DAY IN HATE!!!!

Sure, but like you said -

Lane is frustrating in his own ways but he accomplished what no other coach of ours has done so that by itself elevates him even though losing to Kentucky and Florida last year are stains on his resume.
