Be sure to count how many of them are at LSU next year.

So Kiffin couldn’t wait until after the playoff
but Ole Miss should ? No way.

Your 10,000 post on this alter was this sad, hapless troll? LSU fans are melting because deep down they know the guy is a dirtbag to abandoned Ole Miss and the players before the playoffs. After already leaving Tennessee in the middle of the night.

He is just a attention seeking male whore. Nothing more, nothing less. And I actually like Kiffin because of X and press conference trolling. I think it will end poorly at LSU but I do think he gives LSU 1-2 good shots at winning natty.

Plot twist: SEC Doctor does not have any concept of what class actually is. He may as well be lecturing us on plutonium physics.

Should they show the same kind of class that LSU fans did when Saban was hired at Alabama?

It's incredible watching all of the Gumps crash out in every single Lane Kiffin thread

Jobs had to be filled because of the calendar. Kiffin wouldn’t have this job opportunity after the playoff.

I don’t blame ole Miss for telling him to leave, but he just took a huge opportunity he likely wouldn’t have again.

I don’t see what he did wrong here.

The main reason for all of this nonsense is the NCAAs moronic decision to put Signing Day right before the playoff.

This is one of those situations in which a person’s perspective depends on whether you’re benefiting or losing. Especially considering Kiffin’s history and supposed newfound values, it seems he would be doubly motivated to do the “right thing” by others who will be impacted. Sure, this is a wonderful opportunity for him personally but the same is true for Ole Miss and his players as they enter the playoffs. This gets down to a person’s basic ethics and value system. Bottom line, as in the past, he apparently is going to put himself first. He would have won a lot of respect from people if he had shut this down at the beginning, with a view of waiting until the season is over to consider other jobs. There will be (or would have been) other opportunities …

LSU fans would have already drawn and quartered Kiffin on the 50 yard line

Lane could learn a lot from Sumrall. No ultimatums to offensive coaching staff, no expectation of well wishes, just making a business decision for him and his family.

You hired a sociopath. Enjoy.

You're just mad because he's leaving for a better opportunity to a overall better program. You wouldn't be saying that if he was staying, lol.

Kind of apples and oranges comparing a coach leaving for one of your biggest rivals vs a coach leaving for a job at a much bigger program in another conference.

LSU would lose their shite too if Bama was hiring away our HC on the eve of an LSU playoff berth

LSU fans are just being fans of their new coach.

He will be able to do no wrong right now…..until he does at some point down the road during an LSU season.

Just fans being fans. If the situation were reversed the respective fan bases would be taking the exact opposite stances.

Well said, Fans of a particular team are the ones with emotional ties to your School. That is why the term fans is used. But once you get past your emotions, with coaches, unless the coach is from your home state and alum of your school (for LSU fans, that would be Louisiana and LSU), they do not have the same emotional ties to HC job that you do. For them it is 100% Football and Business. Period.

All this stuff about the coach loves the community, he loves the town, he loves his home, he loves the people, he loves the food, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. While some of that could be partially true, ultimately none of it means crap. Saban enjoyed his time here in Baton Rouge, yes. But what he enjoyed was the football potential and the job. At Alabama, same thing. Urban Meyer at Florida when he was there, same thing. While he was at Ohio State, maybe more of a community tie as he is from Ohio, but it is still also about Football. Urban did not go coach Cincinnati.

Kirby at UGA, that is an example of someone who wants to be the HC at UGA because he is from GA and UGA alum.

But for 99% of the coaches, it is all Football and $$$$$.

And with the players, that is more and more the case.
