You're right. Nobody outside of Oxford would have even known about any demonstration if it hadn't been for this stupid stunt. These kids just wanted people to "see ME..look at ME!". This shite has gotten old.

Nice move by the Ole Miss basketball team. They managed to turn a couple of local Oxford MS losers into national recognition by kneeling to our national anthem.

I guess Mississippi is what we thought it was.

why tho

I'm sure these guys meant no disrespect to your average joe in the military who did a few tours in Afghanistan.

They just picked the national anthem because it's a very public demonstration and they'd get more eyes on their cause.

If you're offended by this you're choosing to be offended. You don't have to choose to be offended.

Whether you like it or not that is how people choose to view it.
Kneeling for something in alot of peoples eyes means they find it distasteful. Not supportive.

Like Kapaernick when he first started.
He just wanted attention and wasn't happy with our country so he chose to disrespect it by kneeling for the anthem.

The Confederate protesters will be asking Black Israelites to stand in for them (going forward) to prevent these instances in the future.

Like how the players are choosing to be offended by people waving the Confederate battle flag?

Kneeling is a respectful expression. The flag and anthem are disrespected when they have to carry the weight of intolerance or hate.

I can't get over how some of y'all react stronger to people standing up to racists than if someone sexually assaulted your mom. My guess is, 90% of the outrage has nothing to do with the national anthem, nor kneeling nor disrespect.

And no, I'm not saying you don't have the right to voice your raci, errrrrrr, outrage. Voice it all you want.

No let's call out the dumb idiots who mean nothing to anyone but sweep our own problems under the rug.

The term “taking a knee” in sports refers to stopping your effort, not participating, or giving up. It’s not “respectful” no matter what these anti-American idiots like you keep spouting. Like Orwell said in 1984 the first thing totalitarians do is change the meaning of words to control people’s ability to think logically. I’m sure any reference to a classic book is wasted on kneelers like yourself who rarely read anything.

Doesn't sound like they're protesting the actual flag but rather a racist group. The anthem is simply the only time where a silent/kneeling protest would be noticed. #MountainMeetMolehill #Claytravis

That's exactly what they are doing.
