MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama Director of Athletics Dr. Joel Erdmann announced Tuesday that the school has reached an agreement on a two-game football series with Ole Miss.

The Jaguars and Rebels will play in Oxford on Sept. 2, 2028, with the two programs meeting at Hancock Whitney Stadium Sept. 1 the following fall.

Yeah it should be done in July. And good for South after first few years playing in Ladd Stadium

I sure hope so.

I went to Ladd Peebles when USA played Oklahoma State a few years back. It was a joke, very much like Legion Field. Crazy close access though. It was easy to access the area within a few feet of the visitor's locker room. The only cops around were those from Oklahoma guarding Gundy.

That looks awesome. Good for South Alabama. Joey Jones really did a hell of a job getting them up and running.

Football in Alabama is always better when Troy, UAB, South Alabama and Jacksonville State are doing well.

So it gets worst? Not only are they playing at South, they are playing at South in a nicer stadium than theirs. Yikes.

FWIW some pretty good teams have recently traveled to Mobile to play the Jags - #25 Memphis, #10 Oklahoma State, #19 San Diego State, NC State, Miss State and Navy

Mobile and the Gulf Coast is loaded with talent so it's a big recruiting trip for these teams.

Would make for a fun Labor Day trip for students and fans. Short drive and some of the nicest beaches in the world.

These types of home/home games always seem like a no-win situation for the traveling P5 team. You win, you don't really gain anything. You lose, it's embarrassing. People will say recruiting, but this isn't like playing a game in Houston, Atlanta, etc against a big name P5 team that people will watch. It's playing USA in front of 30k people.

Yall just played there and lost. Wasn't even a home & home.

It was a home and home.

They won in Mobile in 2014 and lost in Starkville in 2016

This clarifies that Ole Miss is scared of Southern Miss.

Actually State and USA was a 2-1 deal

2012 and 2016 were in Starkvegas

2014 was in MOB.

We lost at home in 2016.
