State actually did a 2-for-1 with USA. Played in Starkville in '12 and '16, Mobile in '14. I did not go to the game at Ladd-Peebles in '14 but have heard horror stories from the people that did. Hopefully the new stadium is a better fan experience.

I personally have never loved when State plays road games against G5 teams, I get why they do it but it always seems more trouble than it's worth. Yet it's not going away anytime soon. State plays road games against Memphis, Tulane, USM, and Troy in the next seven years. I think Ole Miss has a trip to Tulane in the next few years too.

Meh

I’m not a fan but I’m not gonna get in the fetal position out of embarrassment. I really enjoy mobile

Wish we’d never play in Memphis again. I hate their fans more than nearly anyone

You're going to see these types of games more and more. With attendance declining, it's not worth it to pay big dollars for three guarantee games every year. For lots of programs it's better to save the money and likely get two wins. Even the Ohio States, LSUs, and Alabamas of the world will soon dip into doing two for ones more often. Alabama already has one with USF.

The ones that show up in droves when they play Ole Miss and make LSU fans look like Mormons

Disagree. Mobile pretty clearly outpunches its weight class when it comes to recruits (as LSU can vouch, considering you guys get quite a few of them!), so playing in front of them in Mobile at USA with minimal chance of losing is good strategy for a team looking to bolster its recruiting. A little different if you are playing in Troy or Jax State--not as fertile ground for recruiting, and both have been known to knock of a giant or two on their home turf.

If it makes Ole Piss fans feel better, LSU will be playing at Rice (in NRG) this season.

My hats off to Ole Miss for this. It's a move I never thought they would make due to snobbery. USA has hosted a few P-5 teams in Mobile.

Crazy close access though. It was easy to access the area within a few feet of the visitor's locker room. The only cops around were those from Oklahoma guarding Gundy.
It's the same at war memorial. There are gates that we have to shut that block the concourse so both teams can get to their locker room. FAMU players were getting taped up in the concourse talking trash about the stadium before we played them in 2017.

Mobile is a fun town. Much more so than Oxford.

I mean.... They will schedule at G5 out of State but won't schedule a G5 in their own state. That helps the whole state out. They are scared of Southern Miss.

As someone who was at the 2015 State-USM game in Hattiesburg, I do not blame Ole Miss for not wanting to play in that stadium. That's the most miserable I've ever been at a football game. They were totally unprepared for hosting a capacity crowd.
