Seems like he's blaming LSU... but he should either own it and move on or call nicky and cry on his shoulder.

Had LSU and OSU played, LSU should have won, but with LSU s flippant attitude on 1/9/12, I feel it would have only been exasperated knowing the opponent.
Anything could have happened had they played.
They weren't flippant. They knew what they were up against, which is why a few of the players whined beforehand. Miles was a man about it as were most of their players.

Oklahoma State allowed Stanford to rush at an average of 9 yards per carry. Let that sink in. LSU would not even have to attempt a pass.

Or 4.9 per carry. It doesn’t take much to just look it up, bro.

I have no problems with Gundy saying this, and sadly we'll never know, but LSU would have waxed them.

In addition to losing to Iowa State, they beat 7-6 Texas A&M 30-29. Gave up 30+ to Tulsa and ULL.

LSU would have caved in Oklahoma State's shite the way Alabama caved in LSU on 1/9/12. Gundy is a delusional jackass.

The passing game was week

But we could run on anyone not named Alabama.

Alabama had like 3 tons in their front 7.

Theres a reason we were so pissed Bama got back in

Absolutely agree. And that reason is that LSU fans realized Bama was the best team in the nation that year. And that they they had snuck out a W in Tuscaloosa despite having inferior stats due to luck and help from the refs.

Lmao!!!
Oklahoma states biggest weapon on offense was a complete and total draft bust. And they would have run over LSU’s defense that Kirby smart called “the freaks”....

Should be noted that Oklahoma State had their women's basketball coach die in plane crash the day before the Iowa State game. Easy to see why they might not have been as focused on that game.

They were up 24-7 at the half. Did they find out about the crash when they were making halftime adjustments?

LSU gave up 74 points last year to A&M. Are we only supposed to look at one thing.

LSU's offense in 2011 didn't scare anyone. They had a good running game, but often lived off their defense and special teams giving them great field position. Don't have the stats in front of me but I would bet their average starting field position that year was really good.

LSU in 2011 didn't have a first down against UGA in the SECCG for an entire half. LSU had 260 yards of total offense in that game. They had like 10 yards rushing in the entire first half. They were kept in that game by special teams. Look at these stats for the LSU offense in an entire half

Total Offense: 12
Rushing Yards: 5
Passing Yards: 7
First Downs: 0
Third-Down Conversions: 0-of-7
Penalties: 6 for 41 yards
Turnovers: 0
Time of Possession: 10:07

Good post. LSU beat UGA by more points than we had passing yards

Without Matthieu and Wing we drop a couple more games that year.

So they couldn't beat 6-7 Iowa but would've beaten 13-0 LSU? Makes sense.

Iowa St, not Iowa.

Yep, I believe they finished #86 in total offense. They scored lots of points though thanks to their defense putting them in good positions all year.

There is a reason they play two halves of football. That game followed the 2011 script for every game other than Bama. Wear the opponent down in the first half, shut them out on defense and pound them in the 2nd and score points going away.

We will never know, but I would have much rather had Oklahoma State beat us 21-0 than Bama!

Right. It isn't a shot at LSU at all, but they weren't a good offense in 2011. They had a great defense and special teams unit. Les played field position and used his 2 best units to his advantage.

Do I think they would have beaten Okie St? I have no idea, but without Bama getting into that game I don't think OSU has the title in 2014
