Calling it:
2023-2024 Texas begins posturing for something petty (LHN/SECN partnership in which Texas is somehow compensated higher than the likes of Mississippi State, Arkansas and Mizzou). Texas either has great seasons and builds their ego therein not wanting to leave OR has avg/poor seasons therein terrifying them of what’s coming in 2025.

In 2025 the SEC says no and Texas backs out because they weren’t treated with the value that they actually are and they stay in the B12 demanding an even larger market share with OU now out.

is there any chance this falls apart? Do not want these two.

I think so. Best chance is if the other conferences band together and slam the door shut on any future CFP expansion beyond 4 teams.

This whole OU/Texas to SEC deal happened when everyone thought an 8 team playoff was imminent, and the SEC would be likely to get 3 or 4 teams in every year.

At 1, sometimes 2, SEC team(s) a year, there a good chance neither side wants the move to happen at all. Too many big brands competing for too few spots on the big stage.

I'm going to enjoy watching Texas get it's arse kicked for a few years by the likes of UH,Cincy,UCF and the Mormons. Then they can come get their asses kicked by the SEC. Glorious.

THe title and title are misleading . The espn guy said “That was the deal we struck a year ago with the SEC.”

Since then things have changed in that all 4 adds to the Big 12 are coming early.....

The scheduling of all sports was the main concern the OU AD mentioned about 5 months ago and that was mostly the SEC. The dollars matter but there is a bigger payout per school with 14 than with 16 for the Big 12 so at some point that may be more valuable than collecting a penalty especially if all travel and schedules are complicated by having OU, Tex, BYU, .Cinci, UCF and Houston all together with the rest of the conference.....

If Oklahoma mudholes everyone in the Big 12 this fall the Big 12 will drop the penalty..too much of a bad look to do that 3 straight years.....

It would be interesting to see if chokelahoma would come to the SEC w/o their little sister tu.
There is another thread pertaining to Texas, OU, & A&M. The only way to ensure that Texas-OU in Dallas in October is preserved is for both to be in the same conference.

There are currently plenty of OOC rivalries being played. I don't see why this is even an issue.

A&M and tu could have easily continued their rivalry game. tu was too butthurt that A&M was leaving that they cancelled the rivalry game. Deloss Dodds proclaimed the he would decide if and when the rivalry would continue.

If zeroU were to leave without them, tu would probably be so butthurt that they would cancel the rivalry and proclaim that tech is their biggest rival now.

tu fans if blowU leaves without them:

Good, hopefully the deal falls through between now and then

I'd be fine with that. Texas is Southwest. A&M a great fit.

It would have gone back to Stanford if they were still in the CWS. 0-4 -- I'll admit winning one game between the two would have been nice.

I like this Aggie team -- they don't "look" like past teams, due to the coach and transfers. If A&M takes two from OU, there simply isn't a better A&M sports feat in terms of success and taking out teams that you like to take out in history, is there?

They don't schedule OOC like cowards would. Signing up to join the SEC period isn't something cowards would do. I'm not seeing it. I've never seen them forfeit a bowl game, either. They're too arrogant to be cowards.

What happened?

Did Ken Starr and Baylro issue another Perryman report?

It's pretty incredible how the state of Texas economy collapsed after A&M went to the SEC.

AM gets it’s second CWS win in like 50 years and it gives Texas pause? AM is the one who ran away from Texas.
