I’m hoping we can make some noise and at least win a game or two, but our opponents in Omaha will be a substantial increase in competition than we’ve faced in the regional or super regional.
That’s not the case for literally everyone else in our side of the bracket who had to go through at least 1 top 16 team (OU went through 2, including GT who was one of the favorites to win the whole thing). I’m glad we’re there, but our team has won as a team and coming up big in key moments with statistics that aren’t top tier against the best competition. Hope we stay hot, but our best chance to win is game 1 and game 3 (assuming we win game 1). Don’t love our chances in game 2 or a game 4 situation, but it’s baseball…so things happen.

All 4 are capable of reaching the finals imo
Georgia - Gorilla Ball
a ridiculous 8 batters with an OPS over 1.000
Texas - Great pitching + good bats when they show up
Alabama - Good pitching + timely bats. Vaughn is a good coach who pushes the right buttons at opportunistic times
Oklahoma - Hot. Lots of losses in close games this year, but perhaps they have turned the corner. Skip knows Omaha.
Should be two good games today.

Those are fair... though St. Johns was good enough to beat FSU in their own stadium, so... *shrug*
Like I said in another thread... I'm hoping we win the whole thing, but actual expectations have already been exceeded just by making it to Omaha.

We have struggled most of the year against left handed pitching. Hopefully we can turn it around today. Roll Tide!

St. Mary’s beat the #1 team in the country in their own stadium twice, and went 0-2 against Cal Poly.
The “we beat the team that beat the team” doesn’t really hold in any sport, but especially not baseball. Oklahoma State was better than St. John’s, and we barely survived OSU with Banks pitching 3 straight innings to win it in the 11th. It’s been a really fun season with some awesome moments (sweeping AU and FL, the 11th inning survival in regionals, the Torres GS against St. John’s), but I think we’ve outperformed our talent a bit…which typically comes home to roost the further you get in the postseason. Need Fay to pitch a gem in a couple hours to keep us going!

Under normal circumstances this would be an easy one for me. Roll Tide! However those asswipes in Lubbock have made me agree with the Oklahoma AG to the point that I have a temporary injunction regarding hostilities to all things Sooner. Not rooting for OU because that is a physical impossibility but I just want a good game. Strange times indeed.

Football season came early and I’m here for it..
Apparently this was the exact matchup from November of last year during the regular season

All the money has been going to OU over the last 48 hours.
They were +140 Monday and +120 yesterday and now -130 and going up
Everyone’s buying into them being the hottest team in the country
Give me OU 9-3
Alabama won’t touch the OU starter
