Living on the North side of town, this is very true. It is always an invasion of OU fans on Friday coming down 35 and 75.

OP, You are an idiot.
Equal distance from each campus, exact equal seating. OU recruits heavily out of DFW metro and a big reason they have so many of the best Texans money can buy. If you've ever attended, you can see huge crowds of Oklahoma and Texas fans roaming the fair grounds the day before, during, and after the game. It's the best neutral set up in the country, and only a fool would want to change it.

A lots changed the last few years so I’m not sure how it exactly works now but a recruit in the Dallas area can “go to the game” without it being an official visit. If you don’t provide the means for the recruit and family to get to the game it’s not an official visit. Okie is always want to recruit the Dallas area.
I just remember Saban wanted to play any game in their home state during a 3-4 year period so that they would have a game their family could go to.
A home and home obviously meets that.

It’s the only neutral site game that I like. City of Dallas needs to clean up that area with some mass arrests and it would be perfect

I’m sure saban had a lot of things he liked to do for recruits, but ou and bama have different needs, a large portion of ous talent comes from the Dallas ft worth area. And home and home would meet that need, but a neutral site in Dallas better meets that need. If having one game for the game every 3/4 years is an advantage then having a home state game every year would be better.

It seems like fans of other teams are more concerned about neutral site games than don't involve their teams than the teams playing in the game. Its the same with the cocktail party....

I live within spitting distance of the Red River in Oklahoma. Keep that game in Texas because I hate Texans coming across the Red bringing their fake attitudes. All hat and no cattle.

Anybody who's been to a game knows it's a neutral site.
OU grads flock to Dallas. My neighborhood has almost as many OU flags as A&M flags.
Fantastic locale/event. Helps both schools recruit.

I’m sure the merchants in Norman and Austin would like to see it be home and home also.

Certainly each city's better funnel cake emporiums.

1. North Texas isn't called Baja Oklahoma for nothing. Many Texans don't even consider Austin to be Texas. I've been to several games and been told by cab drivers, bar owners and restaurant managers, that they always pull for OU. But that's probably because when we win, we stay and party. If Texas wins, the liberals go home
2. You haven't seen the Red River lately have you? Right now, you could literally step over it. Other years it might be flooding. Now, a giant stadium built over it connecting to both states would be pretty fricking cool. You may be on to something OP

Your stupidity is obvious…DFW and The East and Northeast Texas has always been an OU recruiting ground. The Cotton Bowl is a neutral site, akways has been.

I would make Texas play in Norman. Playing in Austin isn’t nearly as formidable.

Also don’t they split tickets down the middle? How would one team ( Texas as he says) have a home field advantage?

Yes, at the 50.
