Neither of you are on Bama's level. Congrats on your regular season win.

No matter how you spin it 7 NCs is still 7 NCs …

Blue bloods usually litter the top 10 in total wins .

Never fails. All I have to do is mention dildo parade and xwing/rancho/vinner comes running!

Isn't it time for you to be chopping vegetables for the Chipotle lunch rush?

If LSU claimed all of ours we would have 7 NC but we don’t

OU only claims legit NCs … if we claimed them all we would have over 15. We are not Bama .

The concept of blue bloods was something that could only exist before scholarship limits. Now with NIL and at-will transferring I don’t think any team will dominate for years in a row. Just too much volatility.

I agree. Texas is, at best, 5th in the SEC in regards to what they have been the last two decades. Alabama, LSU, Georgia, and Oklahoma are without a doubt ahead of them and one could make an argument for Florida as well. No one lives off preseason rankings and expectations like the Longwhorns.

Texas finished ahead of its preseason rankings each of the last 2 seasons.

Alabama will finish at or below its preseason rankings each of the last 3 seasons

In the NIL era, where everyone can cheat and get away with it, you are going to find out who the true Blue Bloods are. They f'ed up giving Texas the ability to pay players, and very little rules or regulation. My opinion, it could be wrong, but I don't think so...I mean you can see them already starting to rise and I think it only has a little to do with Sark.

Why do you think Saban is pissing on and on about this NIL stuff? He knows it's going to kill some really good things he had going.

I think there is a lot of truth to this but there is another element involved...someone has to manage the egos of the donors. To pretend as if NIL or anything than the amount of money and the fact it can be done in the light of day is naive. Its always gone on at every program that has had any success and at those that didn't. The differences between the Texas's with a gazillion $ to spend and Alabama ain't the money, its being able to manage the egos and the expectations of those who do the donating. Bear Bryant managed it to the nth degree and Saban seems to have it under control. Its been a minute since someone at Texas was able to do it and to be honest if rumors of Sarks personal issues its doubtful he will be able to do it long. All NIL has done is turned on the lights and increased the amounts...managing the egos of donors AND the egos of 20 year old millionaires is a WHOLE new ball game and some are going to be better at it than others.

While I do not speak for all the SEC fans on this site, as for me, I do not care what Texas or OU did in the Big12 and other conferences. What OU and Texas do in the SEC, 2024 and on, is their rep to me. Get ready to show us what you got.

Texas is not by any means a blue blood.

As far as NIL, this isn’t going to work like you think it is ?
I assume you say this because LSU is one of the few schools keeping the bag game alive to go along with NIL? That just means we'll land the more intelligent players who are thinking long term, not just getting some ice around their neck and a new Hellcat coming straight out of high school.

That will only be an issue at programs supplementing NIL with the old school bag game, or willing to meet the demands of some high school kid (with an "uncle" managing things) demanding a certain dollar amount for a commitment.

I won't name the program or pretend they're the only one, but we've had players at Texas let it slip that a certain program who recruits the same players we do every year actually pays for campus visits and also pays to cancel scheduled visits to other schools. Then of course they wonder why there is such division and lack of accountability in the lockerroom once they get those players to sign. NIL shouldn't be the deciding factor for any recruit...a star player can make money with their name just about anywhere. It should be about program culture and a coaching staff that prepares them for life..even if football is no longer part of it when they leave.

As expected, dimwits posting things like "blueblood since 2001" or "since TV" or "last 43 years", exhibiting the complete lack of knowledge of college football blue bloods. I'm sorry you can't all be blue bloods. But, you can be successful today, last year, a decade or four, and enjoy it for what it is. Be proud of it. You just don't get to be a college football blue blood.

...and Texas bought one with Vince Young, tried with Ricky Williams, even tried with Edwin Simmons. But alas, UTx is still not a blue blood.
