So obviously Fox’s Gameday show will be there

I’m assuming this means ESPN Gameday will be at LSU/Clemson?

I'll be shocked if they aren't in Columbus and that will be a Top 5 matchup, maybe 1 vs 2.. and they have both gone to the Texas OU game before..

As for the Big Noon kick, Idk why anyone is surprised. The bigger games are almost always at noon on Fox.

This benefits Texas, so I'm good with it.

Unless they go to Bama/FSU for Corso's last show.

Sucks for the fans but for the neutral observer we get

Texas- OSU 12pm
Alabama- FSU 3:30pm
LSU- Clemson 7:30pm

Can't remember a better Saturday schedule for week 1

Apparently, this is data driven based on viewership on Saturday's.

There are more available eyeballs watching at noon than late night because people are more likely to be able to have the game on before the honey-do lists begin and outings people might have scheduled later in the day.

Don't get me wrong, I hate it btw.

…it’s the Big Noon Kickoff. Fox always has their biggest games at noon.

ALabama FSU isn't a great matchup. Maybe when it was scheduled and based on name recognition, but FSU is dreadfully bad

And the following year Ohio State beat Texas in Austin in a #1 vs #2 matchup.
Funny how you didn't bother to mention that gam

They came the next year to Austin and beat Colt McCoy in his 2nd start as a true freshman. That is the Ohio St team that played for the title that season against Florida.

The 3rd time we played Ohio State was in a bowl a few years later, and this happened:

Morning road games are treated more business like by most high ranked teams. It's hell to get college age awake before noon, I think Sark gets them awake. Sark has a good record getting his team ready for early big games on the road recently.

This may be true, but I would HOPE the fanbase is ready to go for the first game of the year for what is certainly a top 5 matchup if not top 3.

When I was at OSU the first game you never had to worry about the crowd being rowdy. We did legit 5:30/6am kegs and eggs and people were pretty toasty by 10

Yeah he did but Texas should have never been in that situation. Should have just tried to continue pounding it in the middle of the defense. Not saying that it would have worked, but turning it over at the 1 yard line is better than the result of this which was indeed the worse case scenario.

I think you guys may have given Arch a concussion on his run for a first down earlier in the game. He came up a bit wobbly and did not come in when it was 1st and 1 and 2nd and 1 which had been where we had been using him previously.

Colt was a redshirt on the 2005 team.

"Texas can't win IN THE SHOE AT NIGHT!" They had never lost a night game at home up to that point.

Texas showed everyone you CAN win in The Shoe at night.

When Baker Mayfield planted the flag he showed buckeye nation it was no fluke.

Great teams can go in there in win.

And Ohio State smoked Oklahoma in Norman a year earlier.
Funny how y'all remember winning in Columbus, but forget losing at home.

I get it it's just the discussion was about Texas playing there this season.

And FTR, I was in The Shoe in 1977. THAT was a helluva game.

There has to be a method to the madness plugging bigger games on early. Bigger numbers throughout the day maybe?

That should have been a targeting penalty and ejection.. I didn't notice while I was watching as I was just happy with the 1st down (great play call btw).. but while watching replay, they showed the other angle, and holy hell.. the dude lowers his crown right into his helmet..

I can't find the other angle which is where it is really obvious. Idk that it changed anything in the game as Arch wouldn't have been able to play even if they had called the penalty.. just pointing it out that they missed an obvious one.
