That is how bad they wanted him gone. This year will compare to 1941-43 with a asterisk next to it. Conferences playing 6 games, teams having to back out of their Conference Championships, teams self reporting Covid positive cases and doing their own contact tracing.

I think mostly it will be remembered as the year the barners traded down from a midsize to a compact model.

Game should absolutely be postponed. If Bama had 20 players out with Covid for the NCG, they’d be crying and hollering demanding it be postponed. Tell me I’m wrong.

Bama Pretty much played against this all year. Why change now?

Ohio St has been dealing with Covid outbreaks for over a month.

Their players are clearly not following protocols to prevent them from getting the virus. Another week isn't going to help them with that.

Another week would help Fields injured ribs though.

History is the best predictor of the future.

We have had cases of Covid and didn't puss out of 1 game. Especially not a National Championship game.

Put a nice asterisk next to this championship for Bama

Just because Alabama is better at controlling not only injuries but players catching the virus? It is not Alabama's fault that OSU has problems, both teams are playing on a level field.

You want a full strength contest but OSU has been given plenty of gifts already this season. Time to play.

OSU's lack of controlling their environment better is not Bama's problem.

Exactly. OSU has only played 7 games compared to 12 for Bama. As such, OSU should have far few players out due to injury and nagging playable injuries.
Think about it: the Big 12 added a Championship game so that their teams would play the same number of games as the other conference teams. That's 1 game; now with Covid apparently 5 less games is completely acceptable.

1. frick Ohio State. They've already benefitted by playing a lousy 6 games to get into the playoff.

2. frick Ohio State. They need to do a better job of controlling their environment. Or maybe this is frick Clemson if they are the ones that caused this.

3. Just let everyone who isn't ACTUALLY sick play. Who cares if 18-22 year olds in elite shape get Covid-19? Tens of millions of people have gotten it and will get it and most won't even be sick and it certainly isn't going to be a problem for college athletes.

Push the game back a week.

The Big 10's policy (already revised downward to help tOSU in the Big 10 title game) requires a 17 day sit time after a positive test. Given that they played a game on 1/1, anyone who tested positive after that game, wouldn't be able to play on the 18th any more than they'd be able to play on the 11th.

I say, “play the game”.

Alabama been playing teams with 20 players missing all year.

Why even change it now?

^^^^This. Either way if you are waiting for there to be no positives on either team, the game won’t be played at all

What if the game is postponed because of OSU then a few days later a bunch of Bama players test positive? Are we going to keep postponing it back and forth?
