OSU will probably get in as their 4 remaining games are against lesser opponents (lesser this year anyway) and 3 are at home. BUT, they did lose to a middling USC team because of their QB situation. Lincoln Riley acted like they beat the 72 Dolphins. Had Sayin been under center most likely a different outcome. So yes, being penalized for the QB situation.
My only issue with all of this is Bama and OSU basically have the exact same resume and OSU's is probably better
OSU has the best win, but not in blowout fashion like Bama beat UK (point Bama)
OSU has 2 wins on the road over top 25 teams to 1 for Bama
OSU has only lost on the road while Bama lost at home against UGA
I view this as different than FSU as we have time to see what OSU looks like with Fahey for an entire month, and there are at least rumors Sayin could come back for the playoffs.
My main point is both Texas and OSU should be right around Bama, not 7 spots behind like OSU is.

Doesnt OSU control their destiny with the Big 10 championship game since they beat Indiana?.

Ohio St is getting the FSU treatment

Been saying it forever and no one listens. Schedule the most cupcake game possible and coast into playoffs. Playoffs are all that matters. Why any team would have a very difficult schedule is illogical. In no way is it worth the risk of losing a close game because the playoff committee WILL hold it against you most times.

I think right now they do, but not if UCLA losses one game to Minny or Illinois for some reason.
OSU is in at 10-2 or 11-2 or 10-3 I would think

Not only is their QB1 done for the year, but that defense just got exposed last weekend.

They are being punished for scheduling Texas on the road in week 2 when everyone else was playing Eastern Missouri Tech.
That Texas loss isn't what it was early in the year. But, if Texas keeps winning, it ultimately won't hurt them.
What's really hurting Ohio State is that they were blown out by USC and frankly looked bad. They lost their QB for the year and that has been a factor that the committee has used.
Ohio State can't lose another game.

Likely, but capturing this moment in time of where they stand in the polls shows the committee is still focused more on W-L regardless of SoS or equity in conference opponent strength.

If ND loses to Miami and we get a situation where it's either a 2 loss ND with literally no good wins vs the highest ranked 3 loss SEC team I want to see them explain taking ND in that scenario.

We don't care about Ohio State, dude.

The young QB looks like a young QB.
Ohio State needs to win out or get a lot of help.

I think they drop ND in that scenario. I believe ND really pissed of the CFP committee last year and there are plenty of members in that room that do not like ND.
They are still human beings in that room with biases. I imagine if ND loses to Miami they are out this year. If they lost 1 game they get a pass, 2 games with that schedule shows us how much they beat up on nobodies.

They played 3 ranked teams and lost 2 of them. That's all there is to it.

Exactly - ask an FSU fan what happens to a 13-0 ranked team when your QB goes down.
