I think it’s worth noting all these things can be true at the same time:
1. The Tuohy’s are shitty for telling Oher he was a part of the family, profiting off his story, then sharing the profits with everybody in the family but him
2. Oher was an adult and signed the contract, he doesn’t have any real legal recourse/this suit is going nowhere
3. Oher is putting this out now because he’s got a book coming out
Anyways, let it play out, at this point we’ve only heard Oher’s attorney side of things plus whatever minimal corroboration has been done by the press

That pic was taken in the French Quarter baby. For a minute I thought Sean and Leigh Anne were in LSU purple and gold.
The worm has turned.

He becomes more of a POS each year that he gets older. I'm thinking he probably blew through his NFL money and is now looking for a paycheck.

That is some ungrateful a-hole, turning on the family that taught him to eat, read, and play football.
Except he’d been eating for about 15 years, had been making acceptable grades and playing football for about a year before he met them. Anyone who thinks there ain’t a huge gap between the feel good story of the movie and the actual motivation of the “parents” is naive as hell. Parents have been stealing their kids wealth since time out of mind….these people weren’t even his parents, by birth or adoption.

The Tuohy’s kid did an interview with Barstool today that was pretty interesting. You should go listen.
The Tuohy’s used the argument that Oher was unable to represent himself even though he was an adult at the time. Your statement might be accurate, but if the Oher team successfully establish a prima facie case to the court, then you are probably incorrect.
It will be interesting to watch this court case play out, but I suspect the Tuohy’s will settle out of court.

Amazing watching the ole miss folks immediately lash out at Oher. I’m sure it’s not institutional racism though. Circle the white wagons right?

Have you given someone permission to take $225k upfront and 2.5% on the back end any time your name is used?

They should have left this fat, racist, ingrate piece of shite on the street.

The blatant quid pro quo with the Hugh Freeze hiring just weeks after Oher signed with Ole Miss after being "adopted" by a family of Ole Miss boosters will always be slimy to me.
Me too.
Kinda like eels in a bucket of grease.

This is the damn truth. I read an article recently on the guy most of us know as Uncle Fester from the Addams Family. Turns out though that he was actually the biggest childstar on the planet and probably the very first child superstar.
He was tabbed by Charlie Chaplin to play the kid in the film "The Kid" (1921), America and the world fell in love and his face was on everything from ads to lunchboxes. He kept working and his parents socked away the cash in a trust that he couldn't touch until he turned 21.
Well... right around that time. He, his best friend and his dad go on a hunting trip and his father and best friend die in a car crash that happens on their way back (it nearly kills him too). Meanwhile, his mom remarries within a year to his agent. And when he turns 21 and asks for his money they tell him 'no.' While he eventually sued for recovery, they went on a spending spree. This was millions in the 40s.
By the time it's settled there's barely anything left at all. And that was from his own mother and step-father.

In the movie there was the scene in which an NCAA investigator was investigating whether the family took in this talented teenager for the purpose of prepping him to play for their alma mater and profiting off of him. After all these years…. the investigator was correct.
It was obvious to anyone not an OM fan back then. Oher wasn't taken in full-time by the Tuohys until after he was first-team All-State and Tom Lemming called him the #1 OT recruit in the country.

He got free college. I did not. He got to play a game for his career. I did not. He made millions playing a game. I did not.
These institutions may be racist but it sure isn't toward black football players.

I don’t think we care either way. He can do his thing. Who cares?

Yeah, I'm more interested in what did Michael Lewis know about all of this when writing the book. Maybe nothing, but the movie would not have existed without the book.
Michael Lewis and Sean Tuohy were HS classmates and long-time friends. Someone else pointed out they "grew up together", so probably classmates and friends back to grade school.

Who would have been better, Tennessee with Oher or Texas with Manziel?

Do you really think Oher would've made that big of a difference?
QB is one of the few positions that can change the entire course of a team. Josh Dobbs instantly fixed our entire OL and made Butch Jones look like a servicable coach. I don't know if a DT can really do that.
We had Derek Barnett on those same teams and while there's a few games that he single handedly saved. I don't think he could've won them the same way a QB or skills player can.
So to answer - I think Manziel at Texas would've made a bigger difference but Oher probably contributes huge wherever he lands.

He would've won just as many SEC titles.
