Show causes run out as well. That is how Chip Kelly got to UCLA

Yep, but doesn't a school still have to petition?

I thought that was the big news about UF and Kelly. News came out that Florida had received permission from the league to interview Kelly.

LMAO! It stated "every" coach named in the findings received a show cause! Freeze is done! The 13 scholarships are in addition to the 11 that were self imposed! The 2 year bowl ban ('17 and '18) is goig to hurt worse! Players are free to transfer and NOT sit out a year. LET THE PURGE BEGIN!!

That was an SEC issue.

Chip’s show cause ended in 2015. No permission was needed to interview or hire him.

Makes sense.

Typical SEC rule: put in place to hold reign over the little guys while never being enforced in regards to the big boys

When does this ACTUALLY occur because whether the "sources reporting are true or not" until the ACTUAL statement comes out it is all hearsay.

P.S. fwiw we getting the death penalty with future SMU like 30 for 30 lined up.

I found an article that said SEC permission was needed. It was from some place called FanBuzz, though, so who knows?

This is a pretty decent outcome for Ole Miss. They'll lose some players, and they'll have trouble rebuilding with reduced scholarships, and under probation.

But the silver lining is their in-state rival just lost their best coach ever.

This feels like a win for the Rebels if the scholarship loss is 13 total which is what I'm seeing mostly....the 11+13 is being touted by butt hurt fans mostly from what I've seen.

Congrats bears
