Seems obvious you would have made the 12 team playoff in 2017.

So, why would the number of teams in the playoffs determine the impact of losing an extra game others didn't play in? Stop posting nonsense

Because the majority of the teams making the playoffs won't be playing in such games.

I wouldn't say it should never hurt them, the committee did last year. I think it's kinda dumb. But even with the loss, Alabama is a top10 team and there are 12 spots.

It's a stupid format, what do you want?

It would be disrespectful to Georgia if Bama doesn’t get in. That would be saying the same wouldn’t have happened to ND, Miami etc if they played UGa. I believe it wouid e been worse for them as good as UGa is playing right now.

+1. The Georgia team that whooped Alabama today would beat any team in America, and that includes the two teams playing the Gus Johnson blood pressure bowl on Fox right now. And they would kill ND or Miami.

Bama did not look like the same team without Jam Miller.

But if you penalize CCG teams than what’s the point of playing them?

If there weren’t 3 other SEC teams locked in the playoffs without doing jack shite today, I’d agree.

No...the fact is Tulane and JMU should not be in the playoffs and Texas and Alabama should round out the last two spots right behind Miami and Notre Dame. What a joke that any of those 4 teams would be double digit favorites over Tulane or JMU but yet two will miss the playoffs so the bad teams can get participation trophies.

They shouldn't have been in before. Their best win was a team Auburn beat the entire first half of their game and then turned around and Blew them out the second time they played. FSU says enough on this Bama team.

They aren't great on defense and their offense is off more than on. They have a QB that wouldn't start for any top 25 team and a RB that is probably bottom 10 in the nation.

Says you.

But they were. So they shouldn't be penalized for the privilege of making it to the SECCG.
