Stockton isn't doing bad from a passing perspective. He averages 10 yards per attempt. You just can not fumble the ball. Him and Etienne killed UGA. It's not that difficult to be aware of where defense is around you and hold onto the ball tighter when the defense gets close to you. It's very simple.
