This was a regular season game. Ole Miss and Memphis used to play the first game of the year a decent amount

Ohhhhh. So there were about 300 times I would’ve gladly settled for that.

This one is the GOAT, because a current sec head coach literally had the opponent's playbook.

This was a year that needed a playoff for sure

Nebraska undefeated loses at end to Miami
UGA beats Texas
Texas beats Auburn
Auburn beats UGA
UGA and Auburn beat Florida
Florida beats Miami

Auburn fans have a strong case they should have been NC.

Of course as a UGA fan I’m going to think if HW has come back in 83 like he should have he’d have put every college rushing record so far out of reach it’s never sniffed again and Georgia cruises to NC.

Miami got their comeuppance being left out of the 2000 NC game against OU.

I would claim that NC if I were Allen Greene. I think Auburn’s website already has.

UGA 10-3 over Clemson last year. Dogshit game and I thought we were in big trouble.

UGA 6-3 over Mizzou 2016 maybe? Horrible game.

2008 Auburn/State was the first game that came to my mind.

I believe it was 1995 UK/UF we lost 77-0....so it was low scoring for our part

I can’t believe the Mississippi State people haven’t posted the 1980 6-3 win over #1 Alabama that ended Bama’s 28 game winning streak.

State 7
LSU 6

1974 in Jackson. Weather was about 38 degrees and raining. Was actually a hard fought game with great defense. LSU scored late in the 4th and to their credit went for win. But failed and State hung on for the win.

I was a youngster but had a great time!!!

So that was a low scoring game but definitely not boring at all.

I was there when we beat the Bear
6-3 in Jackson in 1980.
Incredible atmosphere and the stadium was so loud at the end that Jacobs kept complaining to the referee about the crowd noise. Jack Cristil & John Correro comment about it several times.

Hardest hitting football game I’ve ever seen
I remember seeing pictures of Brandon Cox's leg (I think that was the Barns QB) supposedly taken weeks after that game and it still looked like he got hit by a sub-compact car at 40-45 MPH supposedly from the hits in that LSU game.

One small glimmer of hope I have for Mickey/ABC/ESPN taking over the CBS games is that maybe they can aquire all the rights to those old SEC GOTWs from CBS. I would love to re-watch that 06 LSU/AU game among others.

This may have been one of the worst football games in history. I watched this. I was there. It was like watching a bad car wreck, you hoped things would get better, but it didn’t. I’m still traumatized from it, and hope something like this never happens again.

Scoring 4 points is very impressive.

Florida did that in 1987. Unfortunately for the Gators, Miami scored 31.
