but competitively speaking I don't think this helps LSU in recruiting (The state of Texas and less so Louisiana)

Again, this same thing was said when yall joined and LSU's recruiting has been just fine since yall joined the conference. I am not worried about LSU's ability to recruit

What is the long term negative to beating Tejas every year?

LSU needs the money badly. they will be swayed by the economics....same for Mizzou.

Aggie is the only "NO" vote

on the recruiting trail Arkansas and Mizz will be hurt the most. Yes Texas will take players that might of gone to A&M to play in the SEC but keep winning on the field and that new shine of Texas and OU will go away pretty quickly.

Well A&M makes more sense (A&M, OU, TX, Mizzou)

I disagree. I think Arkansas makes more sense than A&M. Arkansas is 240 miles from Norman, 290 miles from Columbia, and 520 miles from Austin.

A&M is 107 miles from Austin, 755 miles from Columbia, and 360 miles from Norman.

Missouri is what throws everything off as far north as they are, otherwise A&M, Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma makes a lot of sense for a lot of reasons and not just geography

Should just send them to the Big 10 and let Okie State come with Texas and OU

It will be a unanimous decision....maybe Vandy abstaining.
If TX and OU are serious and not just fricking with Fox and the Big12 to avoid GOR extension to 2030.
I don't see how it is avoided if Disney/ESPN want it.

They write the fkg checks. Seems it's a brand new world.

You are correct, we are all fans of our individual schools. So the majority of answers on this board are responding with the narrow aspect of what will happen to our football programs. The more broad aspect. of allowing Tx/Ou in SEC makes our conference one of a kind. They add substantial upgrades in rankings of education, rivalries, and most important huge increase in revenue to ALL 16 teams. Big 12 is collapsing, would be blatant blunder for SEC to not allow not only those two, but any others that make us all stronger and wealthier as the true ALPHA conference.

So much so that we threw a truck load of it at a women’s basketball coach. A sport we will probably lose money in.

What? We have 15 commits in this years class and ZERO from Texas. Devaluing the B12 actually helps us recruit Texas by hurting Baylor/Tech/OK State. We weren't beating Texas or Oklahoma our for recruits anyway. Same for Mizz. This hurts A&M's recruiting and can do nothing but help Arkansas's and Missouri's.

If this comes to pass the only one who votes no is A&M.

Are you that confident that Sankey has that kind of clout ? He's sure botched a number of critical 'issues' so far !

If they were smart any school that is unlikely to get picked up by another P5 should vote no. Texas will eventually push you out. I know you don't see it or believe it but it will happen. They hit you from all angles and you can never, ever trust them.

Texas is not someone that will ever be a good partner or be happy being equal to anyone. If you allow in Texas the days of SEC unity will be over forever. Texas cares for no one but Texas and they will destroy others they see having success purely out of jealousy. They have a long body count of once great programs in their wake and no SEC program is strong enough to hold them off.

Oh, and setting the precedent of screwing over A&M for a few bucks is a dangerous one. We have long memories and quite a bit of power of our own. I certainly would have very different feelings about the importance of maintaining SEC traditions and rules if you allow Texas in. It's every school for itself at that point and you reap what you sow.

Oklahoma will never leave Texas. They spent decades trying to get in the same conference with them and the RRR is all they care about. They love being Texas' little lackey. That was what was always so funny was Texas assumed that by saying they would discontinue the rivalry with A&M that we would come crawling back. Instead, we laughed at then and it ended up being one of the last straws for the few who opposed the SEC move.

OU isn't built that way. They don't want to be out on their own and they don't want to lose the RRR. They know that in the end they are a mediocre academic school without much money in a crappy state that no one wants to live in. The Pac doesn't want them. The B1G doesn't want them. So they figure their best shot is being joined at the hip with Texas come hell or highwater because they can't stand alone.

Wow.

Do you really think any SEC school fears A&M blowback?

I am not even sure if your school will vote no when push comes to shove.
