How many points is an onside kick recovery worth? I can't find that in the rule book...

He would have driven his left shoulder at the WR’s right hip and tried to ride that block and hope momentum and LSU players not hitting him solidly would have carried him to the endzone.

Most likely would have gone straight down.

Exactly. Fulton, who was being blocked, shed the block with Delpit and Stevens both closing it to hit Tua right around the 3.

ETA: The Bama receiver wasn't even blocking. He was trying to box Fulton out to give Tua somewhere to throw the ball.

He wasn't getting in. That play did cost Bama 3 points, but the people acting like it was an easy touchdown are just trolling. Poorly.

I don’t think it was as close as you want to believe.

They got beat by 6. Is some bama fan proclaiming it was closer than that?

It was a six point game with like a min. left in the first half. They cut it to one score either two or three times in the 4th had a chance to get a stop or onside kick and take the lead multiple times.

Yes it was close throughout aside from the drive/INT right before the half.

Tua was scared to run. Or too hurt. Neither is lsus problem. We didnt spy because we knew he was scared or too hurt to run.

The game was not close (sure the score says it was).
But it was a total beat down.

I know this is big for LSU, but you beat a really bad Alabama team. Their defense is worse than some ACC schools.

The entire LSU fan base needs to take it slow, because the season is not over I could easily see you losing in the first round because you lack a legitimate defense.

While you did put up 45, you also gave up 41 points. That is really bad.

You mean when Bama proceded to go 3 & out and punt it to LSU with 1:40 left? You're correct.

It then became a 13 point game when LSU scored a touchdown, and proceeded to become a 20 point game when they tried to throw the ball with less than 30 seconds left and turned it over.

This is a really weird, completely irrelevant point.

Alabama, literally, never had the ball with a chance to take the lead. Every time they cut it to one score LSU answered and extended the lead back to two scores.

Bama scores to cut the lead to 6 (33-27), LSU responded with a scoring drive to make it 39-27. Bama cut the lead to 5 (39-34), LSU responded with a scoring drive to make it 46-34. Bama cut the lead to 5 (46-41), LSU ran 4 plays and killed the clock.

The only time LSU didn't extend the lead back to two scores, they kneeled on the ball to end the game.

You won by less than a td and they fumbled by their endzone. Had he scored they would of won...

That's funny stuff right there.

According to recent statistics, onside kick success rates are around 8% so Bama had an 8% chance to win so it was pretty close.

Edit: Sorry, an 8% chance to get a chance to win. Still have to score.

LSU had an opportunity to put it away in the second half and failed to do so. LSU had a perfect first half and all the momentum going into the locker room. They let Alabama stay in it. And come back in the second half. Think you can do that with a good team like Ohio State and win.

We were lucky that mental lapses didn't cost us a game in which we were clearly the superior team.

We don't handle success well, but we are learning. Definitely helps to have the L8U monkey off our backs.1

Yep, Tua drops the ball as he's running, snap goes straight through the punters hands, 12 men on the field when they intercepted a pass.

He's getting hit hard before he gets to the endzone, no guarantee their shitty kicker makes the FG. Oh, we only had to drive the ball 50 yards instead of 75? No biggie, we went 75+ 6 different times. Also, Burrow knew he had a free play. That ball doesn't go into triple coverage if Burrow doesn't know the play wont count if something bad happens. These plays were complete non-factors on the outcome of the game. If you want to play this game Bama scored 21 points on plays you cant count on every game.

The same cock gobblers in here saying this game was close are the same cock gobblers that also say the 2016 LSU/Bama game wasn’t.

LSU whipped that arse. Ed O almost pulled a gus and let off at half but quickly learned better.

lsu had 559 total yards to Bamas' 541. Bama had 2 turnovers to lsu's 1. Doesn't seem that one-sided. That said LSU looked like the better team to me.

I mean about 150 of those yards came on 2 busted plays, one of which was a great trick play and another on a prayer bomb trying to give themselves a chance at the end. LSU controlled the flow of the game and it was certainly more of a beatdown than the score indicated.

Instead of kneeling we should have let Joe throw for another TD. It would have been so easy then we win by 12. This game was not close.
