Am I going mad, or did a Sooner fan type this shite?

Texas A&M.

Austin & TU are full of socialist/SJW types.

Probably A&M. Fewer hippies and SJWs, proximity to Houston and the coast, much more interesting football schedule, making fun of the fake military guys, etc.

There's only one answer to this: Austin. College Station is a shite hole and they are a cult. I would never choose a college because of the football team.

While I love TX the state, it is hard to be around folks who think it is the only state. Individually, texans are a good people, but as the size of the group swells, the ego multiplies exponentially.

As an expatriate Southerner among the Texans, in my experience, they’re easier to deal with inside the boundaries of Texas - it’s when they leave the state that they won’t shut up about it

With regard to OP’s question, Austin wins hands down. You can drive to College Station whenever State your team plays there, but it’s proximity to Houston is its only redeeming factor

15 years ago, the easy answer was Austin. The sheen wore off that shithole years ago, though.

I'd much rather spend time in College Station these days, though.

Also, anyone who says Norman sucks hasn't spent much time there. It's a pretty decent place.

I actually graduated from both. BSME from A&M and MBA from t.u.

I'm shocked how many people would make a decision on which school to attend by how "fun" the city is around it.

Maybe it's because Aggies feel so connected for life, but my decisions on which schools to attend had very little to do with what attractions were available off campus. I went there for what happened ON campus (academically and otherwise) and for what having those schools' names on my diplomas would mean for the rest of my life.

I would rather slam my dick in a car door. I would rather have my skin peeled off and be dipped in salt than live in Texas.

A&M all the way. College Station is ranked as a great place.
Austin is a cesspool filled with virtue signalling do nothing hypocrits who are all about helping the poor minorities as long as they don't move to their subdivision; a bunch of NIMBY leftists libertines.
If A&M has a bunch of gay, then I wouldn't mind helping out those neglected sorority sisters.

I got more upvotes when I posted the lyrics to the song "frick you Texas"

quote:

Think 'bout a place that's hot as hell
'Bout drier than the bottom of a dried-out well
And I think ya know what Texas means to me
Ain't got no money, ain't got no jobs
The banks are all too poor to rob
And I'd like to say one thing 'fore I leave

frick you, Texas, and frick your Lone Star Beer.
frick that fricking Alamo, and frickin' long-horned steer.
frick every Dallas cowboy, that ever draw'd a breath
frick you, Texas, and frick you plumb to death!

I work'd my fingers to the bone
But I knowed I wrote some pretty good songs
'Til I drew the wrath of the Texas LCB
They jerked my tunes off the honky-tonk
With a bullshite list of 'do's and 'don't's
They lock'd 'em up, and throw'd away the key.

Well, frick you, Texas, and frick your Lone Star Beer.
frick that fricking Alamo, and frickin' long-horned steer.
frick every Dallas cowboy, that ever draw'd a breath
frick you, Texas, and frick you plumb to death!

Well, I'm headed for the border line
Anyplace else'll be just fine
As long as there's a job and a decent place to sleep
Get up each mornin' with my arse-a-flexin'
And give birth to yet another Texan
And write a song as he slips between my cheeks!

So, frick you, Texas, and frick your Lone Star Beer.
frick that fricking Alamo, and frickin' long-horned steer.
frick every Dallas cowboy, that ever draw'd a breath
frick you, Texas, and frick you plumb to death!

frick you, Texas, and frick your Lone Star Beer.
frick that fricking Alamo, and frickin' long-horned steer.
frick every Dallas cowboy, that ever draw'd a breath
frick you, Texas, and frick you plumb to death!

My opinion, I guess I would be considered a 2 percenter at A&M. I graduated two years ago from A&M, but I would always visit friends in Austin.

On a day to day basis as a student I would choose College Station hands down. The university is literally on an island so to speak. Generally the only people on campus are students, professors, Corp turds etc etc. Yes the architecture is outdated but UTs not much better.( although their comp sci building is kick arse)

At Texas it’s a shite hole on the drag. So many sketchy people and homeless people. I’ve always felt weird walking around their campus at night.

Night life: Austin wins hands down. But how often are you going to be going down to sixth street? It’s nice that buses can you take you down to 6th and back though. I’m still mad Big Bite went out of business though. And I’m grateful Austin gave me my first torchys experience before they really took off.

North gate in college station to me is not that bad though. I remember I could take a study break, walk across the street from campus and grab a beer. Always enjoyed Dudleys, Cedars, and Rebels. Tipsy turtle, sake bar, dry bean for shots. The clubs suck though in college station. Yes even the dirty f and social.

Greek Life (if you’re into it): Texas wins byyyy far. Round up changed my life ;)

Sports: I feel like A&M has a better game day experience by far. And their facilities have surpassed UT imo. A&M has arguably had better teams in most sports in recent years. I know friends from high school who went to Texas and had a shitty football experience. Their highlight was seeing Natalie Portman and Matthew mcconaughey at games. I think at one point the student section was underneath their huge TV lol

There’s many other reasons I liked A&M and chose to go there but at the end of the day it’s all personal preference. Texas is definitely a great school as well, and Austin’s a great city.

Being from bama won't trigger Texans trust me. Only one state has that potential and it ain't down south.
