I said this would diffuse today (yesterday) now that LSU had started to take the expulsion threat seriously.
Next, we can look forward to this board touting an LSU victory (happening in real time), and then their increasing frustration when the entire rest of the sports world writes that the SEC forced LSU to submit and reinforced its authority over member programs (also beginning). Should be fun.

Expected. School presidents don't want it to be leaked who was and wasn't in favor of expulsion. It is a total moot point now.
The threat of expulsion clearly carries a lot of weight and in the end did deter LSU from rostering the players.
One wonders how the SEC's newfound zeal for rule enforcement will be applied going forward.

they were NEVER going to expel LSU or any other team…ever…
This is not 1988 SMU with only the schools taking the hit…
With the NIL/Rev share the college players are pros now…
The tv contracts are too large…the lawsuits would destroy a conference…no team in the power 4 will be expelled or receive a death penalty again…
