Tennessee might not get a transfer quarterback to be a starter or a backup. That is really tough for Tennessee and Heupel.

I doubt the federal government allows many "write offs" for this. What expenses would he actually have to write off against the income that would make a material difference?

Holding out of practices isn't a sign he wanted to go back to California. He wanted more money, Tennessee called his bluff and told him to move on. His transfer had zero to do with wanting to go back to California.

Tennessee and SoCal schools have a rich and storied history LOL...it probably won't work out much better this time than it did last time their savior was lured away to SoCal...

Tennessee lost a good quarterback. Time to move on. Nico is doing what is best for himself. Tennessee will be lucky to win 8 regular season games this coming season without a good replacement.

They have until Friday, no? I have no idea if anyone is in the portal but you'd think someone would like to play in Heupel's offense....

If this happens, he starts for Tennessee, and they win it would be glorious.

The last thing anyone will ever accuse me of is being a Tennessee fan. I don't know if truthfully Tennessee didn't have the money to match or they just didn't want to invest in his talent I'm glad they let him walk. I can see a lot of outstanding players going from hero to heal because of NIL. Good riddance.

Tbh UCLA has a harder schedule ATM on paper than the Vols had last year. and with far less talent. Iirc he has games vs Penn State and Ohio State for sure, he's gonna get lit up bad

Cliff notes from the link:

The Tennessee Volunteers are reportedly in early contention for UCLA Bruins transfer Joey Aguilar who entered the portal early on Monday morning

Aguilar transferred in from App State, where he totaled 7,216 yards and 61 TDs in two seasons??

I could see that happening. He just transferred in December, so played last year with App State. If Tennessee is interested, I'd assume that would have been his first choice to finish out anyway.

Years down the road when NIL had been somewhat reigned in, the 30 For 30 does the NIL episode “How Name Image Likeness nearly killed the game” he will have an entire segment.

Tennessee’s schedule this coming season is a joke so this idea that playing in a major sports market for the best conference in the country is going to hurt this QB is just funny stuff.

I remember you also insisting that he was going to make more money and "win" this situation.

That would be poetic justice.

Aguilar can play. I know his numbers were at a lower level but he can play. And he can run too.

I agree the ACC is a joke. I just find it funny how you guys seem to think a QB that led you to a playoff berth is just gonna suck at UCLA. He’s a year older. And now you sign UCLA’s QB so I assume that guy sucks if he played for UCLA where we all know they don’t play real football.
