Oh this isn't the melt my man. The melt happens if Saban promotes Grantham. That'll be the mother of all fricking melts right there.

Neither did the schools he was playing. Hypothetically if rees gets the Alabama job he will be coaching higher rated talent but with that also comes an increase in the talent he will playing against. Not to mention notre dame has been putting tight ends in the league for a while. Tight ends catch balls from the quarterback right?

I could be wrong but don’t offensive coordinators recruit offensive players? Instead of saying he didn’t have the talent and will do better with superior talent at Alabama.. you should be asking if this guy and recruit

Huh?? You honestly think an OC who has 2 NC will never be considered for a HC Job? He’s also an nfl guy so he could make a lateral move to return to the nfl.. don’t know how you can begin to state that you know Monkens thought process, career goals, and aspirations

So what did BAMA run in 2020? A 12 personnel, run the dam ball and take full advantage of our tightends approach.

Rees wants to play physically. Yes, he checks the box with the usage of tight ends and he uses a lot of motion to get them open. His MO is to get the running game heavily involved. So far, he is reminding me of Sarks 2020.

Rees has the RPO in his bag and knows the uptempo game. Notre Dame was lethal in their use of screens. So far, they still sound a lot like Sark, 2020.

Blow it off all you like, we are living in a Bayou swamp around these parts, but Brian Kelly wanted this guy in Baton Rouge and couldn't talk him into it. Mario tried to grab him in South Beach.

So to surmise: He's going to run a more physical style of football. And I'm hearing the guy can recruit. Looking at ND ranking, I would agree.

Dam folks still sounds a lot like Sark in 2020.

You have a poster on here saying he hasn’t had but 1 top 100 qb/wr in 5 years?? So weird how conflicting this is.

I’m also confused on what Alabama did in 2020 and the relation to Tommy Rees?

It's certainly true that Notre Dame hasn't had elite skill player talent on a whole.

LSU, and to an extent, Alabama (if this hire happens), will be finding out if that was due to the coaching staff or if it's just a Notre Dame problem.

LSU certainly seems to be doing okay so far.

You are obviously easily confused. The scheme will only take any team so far and talent and coaching take over.

Yes, because those are actually accurate

Illinois beat Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, Northwestern and Minnesota.
Lost to Michigan State. Lost to Michigan by 2.

Notre Damn offense last year under Reece!

Points pre Game/ #31 in NCAA @ 31.8
Yards per Game/ #52 in NCAA @396.2
Redzone Scoring/ #42 in NCAA @86%
Pass Play % 40.29% (#118 NCAA)
Completion % 62.43% (#47 NCAA)
Yards/Pass 8.0 (#34 NCAA)
Passes/Game 26.0 (#117 NCAA)
Passes/Game 30.4 (#48 NCAA)
Pass Yards/Game 207.2 (#92 NCAA)

So Notre Damn ayes an independent schedule and their offense is middle of the road in NCAA. What do you expect out of him in the toughest conference in the country? Fans will be calling for this guys job by mid season.

If a scheme is so bulletproof why would the best players not want to be coached under that scheme?? Notre dame consistently pulls top 15 classes. Is that not good enough? A scheme isn’t very good IMO if it takes consistent #1 ranking classes to make it look formidable
