Would you prefer Michigan State? Nebraska?

Yes, because those are actually accurate

It's pretty clear what the general comparative was - non-elite B1G program.

Except the difference between Nebraska and Illinois’s talent is pretty massive.

2022 Talent Composite Rank
Nebraska- 24
Illinois- 57

You can’t just throw out a team who recruits as terribly as Illinois and then just say “Well it’s obvious I meant any B1G team other than OSU or Mich”

That’s like someone throwing out Vandy (#61) and then saying it’s basically the same as Ole Miss (#23)

My guess is that if he's the guy it's a co-DC situation with the young kid from Southern Miss. That doesn't really make me feel any better but I'm guessing that's how it will be.

That type of hire would suggest to me that coach Saban is still insistent that he wants his fingerprints all over the defense. Then why not just keep Golding?

Hiring someone like Jeremy Pruitt represents a couple of different things. One, coach Saban is willing to "SIMPLIFY" his principles on defense. That coach Saban is willing to put a man in charge that has his own mind about being aggressive.

Stop crying. I didn’t call you any names or anything like you’ve been. All I did was disagree with your ridiculous comparison, and backed up my argument. I know that George is not to be disagreed with, so I’m sorry for that.

Except the difference in Nebraska, Michigan State and Illinois's talent when lined up against a Top 10 team is not, in fact, massive. It has similar results, as do most skill position clusters that rank on the borderline Top 25 or outside of it.

Which was the point.

You look for arguments about pedantic things that aren't material to the conversation at hand and decide to make a last stand on them come hell or high water.

When someone says they're "so hungry I could eat a horse," he probably gets mad when they don't end up eating a horse.

I think the problem is that you think I am arguing with you about Tommy Rees’s ability to produce high level offenses, when in reality, all I’ve been saying is the Illinois comparison is ridiculous.

Nebraska is in between Ole Miss and Arkansas in the composite.

Illinois is in between Rutgers and SMU

There is no comparison between those two team’s talents. None.

I had no problem with most of your posts ITT, and you could’ve just said there was a better comparison to be made, but you kept doubling down and insisting that Illinois’ talent was in fact comparable, and it’s taken you 3 pages to finally start to admit that was a little ambitious.

If they’re so pedantic now, then why did you keep insisting that you were right about it?

How is it me “making a stand” when you kept arguing?

You made a ridiculous comparison. I pointed out how ridiculous it was. I used data to support my argument. You kept arguing. I kept arguing. Now you’re calling me names and saying I should’ve just dropped it.

You went from “I’m right”, to “I’m still right”, to “you’re a shithead” to “it doesn’t matter”

It's pedantic and immaterial because the change from Illinois to Michigan State as the comparative does not change the key points of the discussion that is being had in this thread.

Ok, so why didn’t you say that when I originally replied instead of doubling down? It takes two people to make an argument.

Once again, we both argued our separate points about the same topic. You argued as much as I did yet somehow I’m the shithead? It sounds like you just want me to bow down to you.
