Seriously, I think it'll happen in another 20 years or so. Some great coach will wake a sleeping giant. To me, right now, the one who seems most *capable* of doing it is Smart. If he stays at Georgia long enough, I don't see why it won't happen. If the powers that be are smart (pardon the pun), they'll keep Kirby around no matter what until Saban retires.

I would take a loss to Auburn every year if it meant winning a national championship. Now that the playoffs have arrived, losing to you guys is nowhere near as big of a season killer as it was just five years ago. As far as I'm concerned the rivalry, at least on the part of Alabama, is over. It's all about getting one of those four spots now. And it can be done without beating Auburn.
In short, Auburn is now irrelevant.

Saban has never beaten an Auburn team that has won 9 games. He is 0-7.

Interesting, so in the 16 years Saban's been coaching in the SEC Auburn only has seven 9-win seasons
