Classic SOG, can not add any substance to the conversation here. He is good at "look how great I (UA) am" post. But shoots blanks when you have to discuss real topics.

We can always count on you to keep any topic on Alabama churning for page after page.

I am sure they will try, but both schools do not want it to go to court again. The people of Alabama are getting fed up with both schools handling of their non-athletic operations. Now that Bama has over 50% out of state students and AU with almost 40%, while their children are forced to go to JC due to cost, people are getting tired of the greed coming out of those ivy covered towers.
You old curmudgeon - Please tell me you aren't sending your grandkids to freaking Juco just to save money. Open your wallet and pay for Auburn - YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU!

Chins and I just had a discussion about the merits of current IP and Patent law.

You are broken my man. Your words don't even make sense.

Life isn't fair. Don't have kids if you're not going to be able to save up for college

My kids are on Scholarship and have my GI Bill money, so it is not personal. But I have seen many hard working families having to make hard decisions. That has bothered me for years.

Do they know there are more than 2 universities in the state?

Cost is similar across the board, but the state pays more to those two Universities.

It was just informing Bama of possible IP infringement for a sports talk show set in a barbershop. Big difference there. Lebron's spokesperson even said they aren't trying to get into a legal situation.

Why say it unless you're wanting some kind of attention for it?

I have about 14 years before I have to worry about this but my kids will not be starting off at Auburn or Alabama without scholarship money. They can and will take the basic classes at juco and transfer to a four year college. Starting off at juco can at least help them acclimate to the real world without having to head dive into freshman orientation with irresponsibility and the accrual of massive student loan debt. Lessons learned as it took me a whole semester to settle down.

I'm pretty sure staking a claim like this is a requirement to maintain integrity of their future IP claims (say if Kevin Durant set up competing show)

This gets exposure to Lebron's show and Bama's version doesn't hurt htem. Wouldn't be shocked if Bama acknowledging the IP claim = end of issue

okay, so your example means families will only pay $93-118K to send the kids to those school instead of AU/UA.

You are including cost of living and other expenses that have nothing to do with actual school. It cost around 40-50k to send someone to a 4 year school. A very sound investment for future earnings.

Stupid not to invest it. Even if it was 120k, its still a sound investment considering the potential return.
