My favorite Matt Ryan moment was when he told the Panthers to "GET THE FVCK OF HIS FIELD" back when we weren't pathetic losers.

I think massive douchebag is a more fitting term for him.

I also hate the thug and racist argument, but this is a prime example of why people make that argument. He's not a thug, but he's anything but like able.

Prior to last night, he was probably a pretty well liked athlete. I imagine he'll be well-liked again in a few months.

I understand you not liking him, but a lot of fans do, perhaps a solid majority.

For the last two wks, he repeatedly defended his celebrations by saying "if they want me to stop dancing when I score, they have to stop me". Well, the Broncos stopped him. And he promptly started pouting, proving that he can dish it out but not take it. Call that whatever you want.

He's a thug POS and always has been, from his days as a thief at Florida to shopping himself to the highest bidder in the SEC

You are a delusional dumbass if you don't think the best players on every major college football team in America aren't paid!!!

Newton is a lot of things, but "classless" and "thug" aren't two of them
Sure, the presser last night wasn't one of his finer moments. And perhaps it had elements of "classlessness" but a classless moment doesn't brand one "classless."If that was the case then just check the "member list" on this forum.

He may act like a clod at various times. I don't care for the planned dances after a TD. For that matter, I didn't care for Brian Bosworth's and Mark Gastineau's antics in the 1980's. Showing your behind in the end zone doesn't make a guy a "thug."

My daughter graduated Auburn last Spring.(No, I am not a closet Auburn fan nor or they my second favorite team.)Newton was scheduled to graduate the same day and time. At first the word was he was going to the ceremony. The closer to the weekend he decided not to because he didn't want to draw attention and distract from the other students. Not too many 'look at me' jerks would do that.

Guy has done a lot of charity work and gives a lot of money, too. Now, would it be in his best interest to mature some ?Sure it would. Name another 26 year old that couldn't mature some more.

I like Cam, but not everything about him.Do you like everything about players you like? Remember it was the 2010 LSU game where he really became a household name so again I have no hidden Auburn agenda.

He's opened himself up to some questions and ribbing. But being branded classless and thuggish aren't accurate or correct.

Dead wrong. I wouldn't trust Scam to babysit a Hamster. The only class he has is low.

Good post. He's not a thug or classless and I don't believe he deserves the ridicule. Emotional and a sore loser? Yes.

Guy is polite and respectful about 99% of the time, but because he doesn't take losing well, he's classless?

I was brought up to believe that was the text book definition of "classless". Defend all you want, but the guy brings it on himself. Go back and review some of his celebrations. It's not just "exuberance", or "passion for the game". The guy flaunts success in an in your face type way. If you do that, you open yourself up to major criticism when you behave the way he did after the game. A lot of athletes have dealt with defeat, look at how they handled it. The bills in the 90's were all class. The patriots after the perfect season loss were all class. There is no excuse for it.

And I can imagine what some of you are teaching your kids about competition. "Hey son or daughter, it's ok to act like an arse hat when you do well, and a big baby when you don't, you just love the game"...

Me too, that's really what I thought teaching small children to play sports was about - at least when you're first beginning, learning how to be a good winner and a good loser.

But I'm done with Cam for now, he's unworthy of more.

Cam is immature, spoiled and arrogant. These are not uncommon traits among pro athletes though. I would not call him a Thug or Classless.

He did congratulate Peyton after the game, which is more than Peyton did to Brees after the 09 Super Bowl.

He is 27 years old. The dude is not a kid. Hes a punk who just happens to be the best athlete on the field every game he plays, even in NFL games.

I do find it interesting that people forget that while they praise Peyton for being "classy".

Cam came across as petulant without a doubt, but he at least didn't throw his teammates under the bus like Peyton did a few years ago.
