re: Any news from Les Miles?

Miles is too old and to set in his ways. He burned his own career by not adjusting offensively in his last 2 years at LSU. He's a dinosaur or a Dodo Bird. All three are extinct and never making a comeback.
Alabama has had the most devastating consequential losses in college football history. It's a big part of the blueblooded tradition and lore of the Crimson Tide Program. Losses to Texas in the 73 Orange Bowl on a failed QB sneak by Joe Namath, Notre Dame later that same year in a New Years Eve Sugar Bowl and again to Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl in 75 - all with National Championships at stake are three of the GOAT painful losses. Add in Camback and Kick 6 and that's 5 of the most painful losses of all time that directly affected the National Championship. No other college football team can match that list of close losses in such historically consequential games.

eta- The Clemson loss this year wasn't particularly painful for me. Jalen Hurts confidence in his passing skills had been regressing since midseason and I knew he would be afraid to throw the ball downfield in the Championship under Sark. I expected the passing game to sputter. I still expected to win with a solid running game and great defense. It came down to the last play of the game. Clemson made the plays when Alabama kept giving them the ball back on 3rd down in the second half. So - I'm not including this years close loss in the National Championship game as one of the most devastating losses in college football history.
DT. If he's good he's more important than the QB.
And I have no interest in Chip Kelly.

Hes never won anything anywhere.
For those of you who do not know this - Anyone can apply for a bank loan using assets or "future" assets as collateral. A kid projected to be an NFL player can walk into any bank and negotiate a loan based on his NFL draft status. FACT.

no doubt...what Saban is doing may never be matched again. It is a shame that college football chose to ignore better ways to crown champions before 1998.

So - Chicken - YOU get to decide there were no National Champions prior to 1998? BULLSH*t! You remind me of Meryl Streep now.

Through the years the sports press who watched the games made their decision based on what they saw. In many cases common opponents and head to head competition determined who they chose as the National Champion. The AP is legitimate - as was the UPI and many other college football press, sports writers and reporters. They're opinions mattered and the Champions they crowned made a difference in the college football world and in history. The 1926 Alabama -- Washington game was a National Championship game that changed American culture. Your sour opinion is just sour grapes. You can't disguise your LSU homerism and Alabama insults disguised in a few compliments. Dredging up this awful thread is an insult to every college football fan.

Ban me.
I think Alabama fans handle losses better than any other fan base because they lose so few and always come back stronger than ever. They're a confident bunch. You can't deny history and historically Alabama is the GOAT.
Kiffin is immature, vengeful, vindictive, and childish. He absolutely is not above throwing the Washington game just to spite Saban for his "asschewings". Kiffin is a liar and a narcissist - he only cares about himself - there is no sense of greater duty or loyalty in Kiffin. He can't be trusted - ever.
I searched YouTube for every replay of every radio and TV interview Kiffin & Saban did after Lane left Alabama and the medias reactions to Kiffin's story. To a man the media all said Kiffin was lieing. I'm with the media on this one. I'm not buying what Kiffin is saying. He lied about why he left Alabama before the Championship Game - add that to the "never a happy moment" and "dog years" shade thrown at Alabama and Saban - and it's pretty obvious Kiffin wanted to leave Alabama with a special parting gift: a big turd on the 2017 Playoff scoreboard.

The only reason Kiffin lasted 3 years at Bama is because Saban doesn't let assistant coaches talk to the media. Kiffin resented it and called shite in the Washington game. Saban sensed it immediately and sent Kiffin packing.

On Mike and Mike Kiffin said it was his decision to leave before the Championship Game. Does anyone on earth believe that? Kiffin wanted to leave Alabama with an early loss in the Playoffs as an FU to Saban.
Long time Alabama fan and I wouldn't be upset but Saban would be upset - and that's what makes him such a great coach.
It's not diddler - it's diddlers. Boulware is a diddler too.

If Georgia can't beat ND this is a waste. Good trip bad football decision. ND sucks and so does Georgia.
I'm an Alabama fan and I'd rather see Dabo at LSU than Alabama. He's not the right guy for Alabama.
NEVER. Oklahoma would have to poach recruits from SEC territory. I don't think they would be very successful in the SEC but they would thin out the talent.
Auburn is hot garbage because they don't have a decent dual threat QB. Its funny because Malzahns system depends on a dual threat QB - and he has garbage at QB. If Auburn had even an average dual threat QB this year they could have beaten Clemson and gone on to a great season.
When the pressure is on and it really counts for something Stoops craps the bed.
The four team Playoff format did it's job and the two best teams will be playing for the Title. Michigans belly flop in the bowl game exposed them - and the whole BIG 10 as garbage. USC beat the BIG 10 Champion - the same USC that Alabama routed 52-3 in the season opener.

2 boring games

And how much more boring would it be to watch the #1 team beat the #6 or #8 seed by 50.
There's a HUGE difference between the best team and the 4th best team. There's no need for more than 4 teams in the Playoffs to find the legitimate National Champion. More than 4 teams would create unnecessary games that would thin out attendance and burn out the country on college football.

eta - Average fans can't afford to attend a bunch of Playoff games.
