I don’t think the PR people know anything other than what Byrne and Oates have told them, which appears to be very little. When the Miller and Bradley news broke Oates said they were aware of it. Yet, Byrne said it was new information. Byrne said Oates misspoke.

The NY Times covering this story means it has legs, and it is not going away. The further Alabama advances, the more pressure the media will apply.
