Look, you guys complained about people getting participation trophies.
NOW you're complaining about people getting non-participation trophies.
I mean, quit sending mixed messages!

UConn's Women's Basketball, the most prominent team on campus, IS playing.
So brave!

What has happened to our media and journalism in general over the last few decades is absolutely tragic

When can we expect CNN and MSNBC to do a special on them?

So how did a fall without football unfold?
As students descended upon the Storrs, Conn., campus for the start of the school year, the virus took off, same as at other universities nationwide. Twenty-three of Connecticut’s roughly 100 players ended up catching it, though none became seriously ill.
So in the end, UConn's brave decision to cancel their football season didn't accomplish shite.
Northwestern went forward with their season and didn't have a single positive test all season.
What a crock of shite. But this is the state of American journalism.

So you want to read this guy's opinion?
I think I can tell what he will have to say. Hard pass.

Before coming to The Times in 2017, he was a senior writer for ESPN. NCAA football COVID deaths-ZERO!
UConn has been a D1 school for 21 years, starting in 2000. They have averaged 5 wins a year over those seasons. Over the past 10 years, they have averaged 3 wins per season. So they opted out of 2020 to avoid further embarrassment. Bold strategy, Cotton!

This dude and Christine Brennan of USA Today will be heralded as the saviors of Western Civilization (oops, the NY Times hates Western Civilization.)
Remember Christine Brennan was saying the "smart" schools did not want to play and were wise by not playing.
I don't know the numbers but I would guess football teams has lesser infection rates than the student body at large.

Well...UConn can give themselves a trophy of their own creation....like the one that they created for the "Civil Conflict" rivalry between UCF...that UCF promptly left on the bench after the game

I’m really starting to hate the 21st century. From the comment section
“This analysis is right of course. But if you're still playing or supporting tackle football with all that we know about CTE, etc., then you've already made a tremendously irresponsible health decision. It's unclear that adding COVID to the equation is that much worse.”
