Yep. It's surprisingly crystal clear who's involved too. Just look at the recruiting patterns and strategies of some of the big contenders and compare that with big contenders of other sports - like football.

What's even more damning is that despite being obvious to anyone who looks into it, a lot of the big players in the game have never had NCAA problems. Yet the NCAA will drop the hammer on a football player for even minor transgressions.

This is why I think LSU fans' bragging about their relationship with the NCAA commissioner is hilarious. The NCAA is full of shite and the buck stops with him.

LSU's Full Cost of Attendance Scholarship at the time of the wiretap was on average $27,288 which included tuition, room and board, and stipend among other things

There's nothing that proves Wade was NOT talking about LSU's scholarship offer especially when Smart and his family have come out and said they did not receive any financial compensation

Again, show me the proof where Wade gave impermissible benefits to a recruit for play.

What a dumbass you are! I guess LSU was the only one offering a full cost of attendance then? Every other school was just a partial offer or something?

I don't think this Wad stuff is going to come to anything major, but, wow, if it did this would end up being post of the year. If Wad gets fired or lsu gets in trouble, this webpage needs to paste this quote on the homepage.

"He was just talking about scholarships". LMFAO

Can you prove without a shadow of a doubt that he was paying players then?

No?

Ok then nothing has changed. FWIW I could very well see Scott Woodward parting ways with Wade because of the optics but, there's no evidence to connect Wade with the payment of players

You're missing the point. You can't prove to me he wasn't talking about scholarships . And you certainly cannot prove to me *given the facts* he paid players.

All you have is vitriol and wishful thinking during a period of time where the NCAA is completely flipped on top of their head dealing with a global pandemic and cancellation of all major Spring/Winter sports

If Wade leaves, it's because Woodward fired him

Who cares? He's not going to a criminal trial in a court of law.

He's going to be on trial in the court of public opinion and at the mercy of NCAA cronies. The burden of proof is really not that high and your dumbass scholarship defense will accomplish jack shite.

Good point. If the public didn't give two shits what Will Wade did, then why would the NCAA act? The problem is: the public does care because it tarnishes the image of amateurism.

Good bye LSU basketball. I can't wait to bump and quote from those old threads.

No doubt

At this point the NCAA has to do something to maintain appearances.

Unless they can get someone to admit to taking money they cannot do shite. Reid and Smart were both investigated and they and their families said nothing happened and both were cleared to play. This is all a dead issue. All of this actually helps LSU because Wade is a damn good coach and it cements that no big time program will come sniffing around wanting to hire Wade. He will be at LSU for a long time.

What has happened at LSU will likely top the Mills situation and likely land the Tigers a near-death blow for their basketball program when all is said and done here.

So, what "new" information has been released? We already know everything that's been mentioned in the article today. The NCAA sat down with Wade and Smart, Smarts family, etc and they all went back to basketball. Is actuslly hearing the tapes and the words of a convicted felon who is paid to talk and is no longer under oath supposed to be the final straw? Lol

If it's the tapes of Will Wade talking about paying for recruits, then it's evidence that didn't exist before and shows the previous rumors were legit.

If it's tapes of other people talking about Will Wade, then it's just more rumors and nothing will happen.

I will tell you something you may not know, College basketball has been paying for players a long time. I did some scouting for Bob recruiting service in the early 80's until near 1990, all the teams were paying for players and have been a long time.

The big time schools all pay.

Based on the Advocate article, it’s the first one.

And they should be punished as well if evidence comes forward.

It doesn’t make it okay because others are doing it. People get away with murder, does that make murder ok?

There’s evidence that LSU did this.

Good bye, Will Wade.
