Funny how a decade ago these posts didn’t exist but now suddenly it’s a problem. Wonder what’s happened over the past few years

The amount of SEC alum who have moved into my neighborhood alone the last 24 mos is incredible. And all came because jobs paid more. That trend’s holding true in Austin, Dallas & SA too.

Also funny taht for some reason nobdoy ever suggests moving the Sugar Bowl. I mean with all these new teams and world class venues you'd think people woudl be clamoring to rotate that one around too

Why does Tennessee care where the SEC title game will be held?

Har har. In fairness, Nashville and ATL are equal in distance for many of us, especially those of us near Knoxville. However, Nashville is at present a much better town. Don't know how long that will last with all the migration but right now its better geographically and just a better city. Atlanta has gotten too big and unwieldy.

This is categorically false. Downtown and midtown Atlanta look nothing like they did 10 years ago. Atlanta has one of the cleanest downtowns of any major city. Much cleaner than NY, Boston, SF, Dallas, Houston, or LA. Nashville is basically Charlotte with fake honky Tonks. And their Central Business district has a higher crime rate than Atlanta.

Trust me I used to live in Atlanta recently. Downtown Atlanta and midtown Atlanta two different areas. Midtown is not Downtown. Downtown Atl is full of homeless camps and GSU.

Downtown Atlanta is not close to any of those cities. Your ignorance is really showing. Atlanta’s crime is higher as well. Please travel more because most people in Atlanta hate Atlanta especially UGA fans.

Nashville is a much better place to spend time before and after the game. Atlanta's whole identity is based around an airport. On top of that the traffic is godawful, and this is coming from someone who routinely has to drive in Los Angeles.

what waterheads like you don't seem to grasp is that the instant the SECCG were to leave Atlanta, the ACC would swoop in in milliseconds and claim it forever. That aint happening. The SECCG isn't going anywhere, although not sure why UT fans should concern themselves with its location anyway

Let them have it every other year.

I dont know. I see ATL staying as the SEC's football town and Nashville as basketball. Of course Hoover is baseball.

But you could make the argument that all of them need to rotate.

Possible Football Sites
Atlanta
New Orleans
new Nashville stadium
Houston
Dallas

Possible Basketball Sites
Nashville
Atlanta
Dallas
Houston
New Orleans
Memphis
Tampa
St. Louis

Possible Baseball Sites
Hoover (High School)
Birmingham (AA)
Memphis (AAA)
Nashville (AAA)
Lawrenceville (AAA)

1. Most SEC alums/fans do NOT live and or work in ATL.

Could have fooled me in the under 40 crowd when I visit family there. All the gear is ACC or SEC.

2. ATL is very east of central for SEC territory. That was true even before Texass and OU joined.

Nashville is probably the best "central city", with or without the last 2 sets of addictions.

3. It is irrelevant what the ACC does. Completely irrelevant.

Says you but since the 2010 realignments the ACC has moved up the most and the PAC has fallen the most. You want to play checkers as a Homer, I want to play chess against the whole country.

Folks playing for keeps are not just UGA fans. They are looking to the future and the bigger picture

4. SEC needs to rotate the SECCG. Fairness is the issue.

This is a winner take all against the ACC / B1G / B12 / PAC and has nothing to do with fairness. If you Arte in the "participation ribbon" crowd, good for you. I am not.

My guess

LSU has gotten better in CFB (wants to be in NOLA)
TAMU wants HOU but probably just optimistic thinking
Utx wants DAL because they will want it there permanently (JerryWorld)
OU wants DAL for recruiting
Hogs may want DAL or STL, but hopefully not
Mizzou wants STL but probably they are the only one

Which way to do want it in this new era? Regional checkers or National chess? For nothing to change or to fall behind?

Texas & Florida represent 53 million people and have added 9.6 million in the last decade alone. All signs point to them doing the same this decade.

Sankey knows the way forward is to keep the brand growing in those two markets.

It’s a matter of logistics for a single game. If this were a week long event, it’d make sense to rotate or even go somewhere like Nashville that might attract extended stay visitors and highlight different regional aspects of the conference over multiple lead up events and tv sets.

But it’s a singular event on a Saturday afternoon. Atlanta has the infrastructure (highways, airport, and hotel/restaurants) to properly support the ingress/egress from all locations in what can be a quick turnaround (especially with divisions being done away with; could conceivably see championship game participants come down to the wire a lot more often). It has a larger stadium to accommodate ample fans plus ample club seating for corporate interests.

It generates revenue and, more importantly, works for all parties (even if some parties would prefer a closer home proximity). It’s not going anywhere.

Texas and Tennessee stadiums would be better off pursuing bids for the expanded CFP locations if they really want to be involved.

National Chess, you are the one wanting regional Checkers with DAL and rotating.

My enemies are not in my conference (this is non SEC thinking) as my enemies are EVERYBODY not in my conference. This is why the SEC is strong now and will continue to be strong in the future as the only historically "united against all outsiders" thinking conference.

I may be an Alabama fan with a strong dislike of Auburn but I will fight side by side with Auburn against the ACC / B1G / PAC / B12. if you do not understand this just shut up and learn as you have already shown your way has killed the SWC and the B12.

B12 shares TX
ACC shares FL

Quit trying to sell me with MBA / Private Equity thinking and sell me as a real fan with your actual life invested in the rivals built upon generations of experience.

SEC owns the Deep South and it is growing, not declining. Our strength in our future is built on the past.

Agree on logistics, but we’re talking about the largest cities in America. They all have direct, inexpensive flights, large venues, & accommodate weekend events this big (or bigger) multiple times a year.

If KC can host an AFCCG with only a week’s notice, Nashville can easily figure it out.

Hey man, I was in the city today. I lived there for 7 years. Most all of my college buddies live in some part of metro Atlanta. Plenty of UGA fans don’t like Atlanta, but it’s because they don’t like large cities. I live on a cattle farm, I don’t want to live there either. But that doesn’t change the fact that as large cities go, Atlanta has more green space and a cleaner CBD (downtown, midtown, south buckhead) than most other top 10 cities. And I’ve been to all of them in the last 2 years. I’ve also been to NO, and Nashville in the last 18 months. They all have their merits. But Atlanta as a fact hosts 93 million air passengers a year to Nashville’s 20 million, and over 3 times the hotels in the immediate area.

I don’t care where they play the game, but Atlanta is and has been the best candidate to host the game.
