Yeah A&M just set the bar on how to throw money out the window. i have a feeling after a few 8-4 seasons under jimbo they gonna be rethinking all that money they spent to get him.

So after his 3rd year it goes from 9.8M to 7.3M. I don't think there is a way we don't give him at least three and probably 4 unless it is just a complete disaster. Assuming we don't make a stupid raise (Jeff Long) it will be between 7.3m and 4.9m. The AD will have to make a decision after the 3rd year because you obviously want your coaches to have at least 4 years minimum on a contract.

Probably a little higher if I had to guess but I don't think it is unreasonable or worrying.

That looks exactly like what Smart's buyout looks like with UGA.

Remember when Hog coach Bert was going to outsmart everyone by signing all his assistants to binding contracts that didn't allow them to leave? I 'member. Worked out well didn't it?

Now the new Hog AD is going to rewrite the coaches contract playbook. Whoa-key doh-key.

quote:

Based on performance at other schools? You'd have to be the dumbest AD in history to assume past performance at a different school guarantees future results at your school to the point you pay out millions up front for it.

Based on performance at your current job dude...

For example...attract a top-tier coach for $7 million+ a year but add performance clauses. Simple.

It’s a gimmick for a program that needs them.
