Strength of schedule

SoS is kind of a made up stat and always has been. People use it to buffer their argument but really what is it

SoS says that playing 1, 2, 3 97, 98, 99 is an average of 50, but your chances of losing 3 games with that schedule is very high even if you're a very good team

SoS also says playing 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 is an average of about 25, but your chances of losing 3 games is lower if you are a good team.

But the SoS would say the 2nd schedule is harder and that just isn't true, even if the numbers say it is by "average" or SoS.

ANYONE WITH A BRAIN watching the OU vs Bama game knows Bama is the better team. Hell even you know that. If they played 10 times in Tuscaloosa and you had to bet your house on a straight up winner, after watching that game the other night you would bet on Bama every time. Dont lie. Yo better fire that coach or make sure he gets an offensive Co. because what you guys are putting out on offense is putrid. About another year and you will look like Clemson under Dabo.

The nice thing about that is Bama fans will suddenly stop talking about how important "head to head" is... and focus on "extra data point" instead.

My theory is that the committee will go with whatever criteria they can to avoid first round rematches. Particularly

And I agree. Having conference foes eliminate each other in the first round kind of defeats the purpose of both a conference race and a playoff.

I see what you mean but personally it's no issue. If Bama beats Auburn, they are in. If they don't, they won't be and don't deserve to be unless everyone else behind them loses 3 or 4 which won't happen.

ND starts the year ranked -7.

They have to lose 1 game to fall into the top 10. Lose 3 to fall into the teens. They are the only team that has the tie breaker over even SEC brands due to the name…and Catholic eyeballs.

It is what it is. That ain’t changing.

It’s why a pure BCS type system is the only equitable move.

They said Miami and ND are not in the same tier

I remember when they made up that criteria in like 2017 or 2018. Heather dinich and the committee randomly started saying they could decide two teams are "unequivocal" and then they didnt have to compare any metrics of those two teams with each other. Which raises the obvious question of how they determined the teams werent equivalent to each other if they didnt compare them.

At this point, watching Locked on Auburn feels like reading yesterday's message board posts.

I know they record them, a day, in advance. I'm just kidding.

of which you and. Notre Dame have the same number. And your loss now looks putrid in comparison.

Strength of schedule absolutely doesn’t matter anymore and the SEC should abandon plans to add a 9th conference game until things change.

Notre Dame opened with Miami and played A&M. Crazy to see the Bammers melting over this

Early losses don't count as much...or so I heard from the Bammers. Don't act like you played a gaunlet every week. They think Notre Dame is better than you. I wonder if somehow the stars align and you beat Auburn but miss the SEC Championship game if you are out of the playoff.

I’m 60 years old. ND has been favored by the NCAA since I was old enough to remember. Through all the changes in how the NC was decided ND received undue favor every single time. I don’t see it changing. It’s completely due to the Catholic representation in the overall population and that ain’t changing.

If this happens, I am sure all the Alabama fans will be on here complaining, since Oklahoma beat Alabama head to head, and had no bad losses (Texas and Ole Miss) and beat Alabama, Tennessee, and Michigan.

Well Illinois Oregon and Texas are all ranked

So that means they each have at least 2

And they don't have losses

And how do the wins look? Because you keep looking around that point.
