Thanks for confirming our schedule was more difficult?

I didn't bring schedules into this the other poster did. Clemson is an elite team, but the schedules aren't comparable.

Hahaha....did you actually do the comparison yourself? I don’t think anyone is claiming similarities between Bama’s schedule last year and LSU’s this year.....good try though baw....I guess from clemsons perspective though, bama’s schedule last year is difficult compared to theirs

Let me spell it out for you... We played the same schedule last year as we did this year. Bama played on paper a tougher schedule that year than we did, similar to LSU this year.
The same argument was made about Clemson last year... "They haven't played anyone and almost lost to Syracuse! Of course their stats are inflated! Did you see how much Bentley passed against their D!"

How long till they just skip the natty and hand over the national national title trophy at the SEC championship game?
It's getting a little odd seeing the best teams ever lose to Clemson.

In case you were wondering:
Clemson stats/yr and vs OSU (OSU held Clem to less than every avg)
O scoring: 45.3 / 29
total O 538 / 417
passing: 292 / 259
running: 246 / 158
D scoring 11.5 / 23
Total D 264 / 516
Pass D 96 / 320
Rush D 112 / 196
I would agree with most that Clemson, OSU and LSU are very comparable... so I would think that LSU would put up similar numbers to OSU in this game.

I agree they are all three great teams. If Clemson holds LSU to 23 points like they did OSU then Clemson wins. I don’t know that it will happen. Burrow is much better as a senior than Fields as a sophomore.

And he isnt a banged up run first quarterback.
I would also say LSU has much better receivers than Ohio State.

ACC bowl record 4 and 6. SEC bowl record 7 and 2.
Clemson defensive stats are meaningless.
LSU played 6 top ten teams. Clemson 1.

IRL, I found myself in the awkward position of defending LSU against none other than Alabama fans on this very topic.
Many believe that Clemson has the advantage because they have players who have been in the NC game (last year) and because LSU players have no such experience, Clemson will win.
Of course, those same LSU players scored nearly 50 on a team full of NC experienced players, IN TUSCALOOSA!!!

I think LSU's got this by at least 2 touchdowns, based on what I have seen, but who knows?

Florida would be undefeated with that schedule.

LSU has given up 16.5 ppg the last 4 games. That included wins over two Top 5 teams.
The defense is coming along just fine. Everyone healthy. Tigers will be ready.

Average offensive ranking for both LSU’s and Clemson’s opponents are about equal, excluding each team’s FCS opponent. So, Clemson’s D has performed better than LSU’s, by the numbers, against similar offenses.
However, the average ranking of LSU’s opponent defenses is about twenty points better than what Clemson has faced all year. Meaning LSU’s offense has performed better than Clemson’s despite being against better opponents all year.
So, the difference between LSU’s offense and Clemson’s defense is likely greater than the difference between Clemson’s offense and LSU’s defense.
