How many ranked teams has Clemson played? Now do LSU.

LSU would have a top 5 defense if they played in the ACC

College football stats are USELESS!

STATS, in general, are ALL encompassing and the results are repeatable.

In college football, stats are pocket driven (conferences for the most part) as well as injuries / suspensions ALWAYS play are part in the numbers.

So if your saying that relative to their conf, Clemson was better, you are correct. If you are saying that LSU relative to their conf. is better, you are correct, but to try and compare LSU to Clemson based on stats is pointless.

The one place you MIGHT be able to make some logical comparison is on a common opponent. Try A&M numbers and get back to me. How well did Clemson do against A&M and by what percentage did they exceed A&M's numbers?

Here, I did it for you.

A&M avg/gm for the yr.

Total yards: 394
Passing yards: 235
Rushing yards: 159
points / gm: 29.54

Against Clemson vs their avg:

total yards: 289 vs 394 ~ 105 less
passing: 236 vs 235 ~ 1 better
rushing: 53 vs 159 ~ 106 less
points / gm: 18 vs 29.54 ~11.54 less

Against LSU vs their avg:

total yards: 169 vs 394 ~ 225 less
passing: 97 vs 235 ~ 138 less
rushing: 72 vs 159 ~ 87 less
points / gm: 7 vs 29.54 ~ 22.64 less

Yeah, you may be on to something here, go place that bet.
