Exactly. Nobody is going to argue that OU is not the gold standard in softball. This was a David slaying Goliath situation. I’m happy for State. I think most SEC fanbases minus Ole Miss pull for them when not playing their team.

You say this like it's something bad. Isn't every school trying to "buy" the best players that they can in every sport. Didn't Tennessee lead the pack a few years ago with the Spyre Sports Group and its affiliated collective, The Volunteer Club?

Doesn’t State play Texas tech in the first round of the women’s World Series? Even the Ole Miss fans might pull for State in that one.
