The way I understand it the final 8 teams play match play in an 8 team "playoff" format. #1 vs #8 and so on. The teams are seeded on how they finished the first 3 days of stroke play which ends tomorrow. There are 5 players on each team so I assume match play will involve 5 players from both teams playing each other and the first team to 3 points wins. A win gets you 1 point and a halved match half a point. I assume that's how match play will work.

ETA: Per your link - it's Texas. Man, what happened to them to fall to be tied at #13?

Augusta State owned the team championship last year.

Last Year? Get with the program and quit living in the past.

Alabama brought home the Women's NCAA golf title to the SEC this year. Hoping the men can too.

4:47 p.m.: Alabama remains three stokes behind UCLA in second place. Hamrick, Strohmeyer and Wyatt are all 1-over while Whitsett and Thomas are still level par early in the round.

4:31 p.m.: The UCLA lead is up to three strokes now that Alabama is 1-over for the round. Four of the five Bruin golfers are under par in the first few holes of the round. If you’re counting at home, that’s a 7-stroke swing in the first four holes.

In a weird way I'd rather UCLA finish 1 and Bama 2 after stroke play. That would gaurantee we couldn't face UCLA before the very last match (if we win our first two matches). Must take care of business first. We have a comfortable 13 shot cushion on #8 and that cushion will like climb some before the day is over. No big screw ups and we're in the final 8 at the end of the day.
