I was there last night and there were around 35000 or a few more in the stadium. Wind was whipping in the 30s to 40s with some gusts over 50mph. Given the circumstances turnout was pretty good.

Tough to make it to a game with late change on a weeknight.

Good for the folks that could adjust and be there.

LSU-South Carolina game when game got moved to BR from SC due to flood issues had a shitty crowd too. It was kinda last minute deal.

That’s no excuse. Tennessee officially sold out its game with Akron. UT also had 90K+ for ball state on a Thursday night. If you have a good team the fans will come regardless who your playing.

The weather and day change were good excuses.

In fairness, game got moved up. Shitty opponent. People maybe prepping for weather or not able to travel

Seriously. If you don't live in Columbia, why would you travel on a Thursday to them beat a cupcake? Not worth it, imo. Maybe if you were retired. But they're usually asleep by then.

No one will risk watching a shitty team that’s for sure. If USC was better they would have better support.

Was the Thurs nite date moved and the new date announced 2 days before kickoff? I didn't think so....

Not in these circumstances. A vol wouldn’t understand.

Game moved up to a school night, bad opponent, half the state preparing for an incoming hurricane (including the location of the game itself at the time).

I'm guilty of it. I used to attend way more games, but it is just so much easier to put it on tv at home and fire up the grill instead of packing up the family, driving two hours, paying a small fortune for tickets and food, then having to either get a hotel or drive two hours home after the ordeal.

This is true.
Also the game day experience is not elite. Aluminum bench seats for a lot of the seats. Decrease capacity 20%, increase amenities, chair seats, charger stations, cup holders, higher end food and beverage. Limit commercials to 30 second ad on change of possession, 1 minute at quarter change.

Bring game back to 3 hour window.

Flooding, high winds, and power outages are certainly real problems happening right now.
