Never been to the tourney but I did pass through the area once and was surprised. Big proponent of the b ham area…the rest of the state sans the gulf coast not so much

I would support that move. Just do not keep it in Hoover every year.
Can anyone give me a reason why it's in Hoover every year? The atmosphere is great, but I think that has much more to do with the quality of teams and fan participation than it does the venue itself.

The Big 12 is very fortunate this year to have Globe Life considering tons of conference tournaments are experiencing rainouts. Don't know if that's a product of Rangers scheduling because of the lockout, but given the necessity to get so many games in during a short period of time, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for the SEC tournament to move to an MLB stadium that's covered (not necessarily in Texas)

Why not rotate it?

I don’t like the idea of rotating it for the same reason I wouldn’t want the CWS rotated. Winning in Hoover has a history behind it just like winning in Omaha does. Certainly there are better places to play both the SEC and CWS, but this conference and college baseball is about history and tradition

I think the simpler solution would be to get rid of A&M, Mizzou, Texas. And Oklahoma haha

100%.... when you're trying to get 4 games in a day you need to take weather out the equation. No reason for it to be in Hoover anymore.

If we keep divisions, have it in Dallas or Atlanta based on the #1 seed.

That's dumb. The #1 seed is often not known until 3 days before the tournament starts. Locations for these type of events are locked down years in advance for planning and preparations purposes.

This so played out.... it's Hoover, Alabama..let it go!! You think any of these kids are excited to take a trip to Hoover because of some tradition? Let them choose between playing at the Hoover met or Global life or Minute Maid...it won't be close.

I agree that there's no reason why Hoover should have a monopoly on it. It made sense when baseball was small potatoes and it was centralized for travel.

The tournament should travel some. I know the old schoolers down in Birmingham won't like it, but it's a major event now.

Baseball stadiums in the SEC footprint comparable to Hoover:

Autozone Park in Memphis
Louisville Slugger Field in Louisville
121 Financial Ballpark in Jacksonville
Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, GA
First Horizon Park in Nashville
Hammons Field in Springfield, MO
Riders Field in Frisco, TX
Dell Diamond in Round Rock, TX
Steinbrenner Field in Tampa
Gold Mine in Metarie, LA
Jet Blue Park in Fort Myers, FL

Traveling to Omaha for the CWS =/= to traveling to Hoover for the SEC tourney. stop trying to make Hoover more magical and special than it is

Just because the stakes are higher doesn’t mean the venue has more history.

And with all the complaining about weather delays, with competent leadership, they could’ve started the first game at 8 or 8:30 today and already be in the 6th inning. It hasn’t rained this morning so far.

The inevitable move to venues west is something that everyone needs to get used to as well.

It will take a vote of all members to do that, and honestly I do not see that happening.

You will just need to get use to traveling

I respectfully disagree. And it is not about travel in the case of the baseball tournament as much as the inability to play games in bad weather. The reality is, there is no real reason to have it in Alabama every year. No reason that makes any sense anyway. Moving it around would be good for everyone-except Alabama...

I hate the parking at Globe , it's spread out to way too many different parking lots , some quite a ways away from the actual stadium

I live in Texas so I would love to watch more LSU events but frick moving it to texas. You guys are guests in the SEC as far as I'm concerned. Have fun travelling to Hoover.

Are you talking about the University here or the state?

Because if you are talking about the university, I’ll chalk it up to another person who has never been to Hoover complaining about Hoover.

There are barely any Bama fans here, way more LSU and ole miss fans than any other team. Hell, probably more state fans than bama here

I like the idea of rotating to minor league parks if their seating capacity is comparable to Hoover. A lot of those parks have stepped up menu options and serve really good food.
