I'd love to see Endowment vs number of alumni. As far as Current Students go aTm has 50K to Vanderbilt's 12K.

That'd be cool
as an aside, I didn't search for "entire systems" on these numbers. Thus said, if you google "Texas A&M College Station endowment" you still get that 9.7 billion number.
this is what Bama fans will be pissed about

I bet 90% of this board doesn't even understand specifically what an endowment is and how it is able to be used.

I hear you.
I'm not even sure how you'd get an accurate number of alumni networks, but it'd be cool to look at. Then again, I'm a bit statistics guy, so I find that stuff interesting

It’s being used to stack stacks on top of stacks.

Or the difference in campus versus system.

How much more is 646.6 from 99.8?

Wow, that's the greatest thread I've ever seen. The OP must have had a huge wiener.

I wonder where most of these endowments invest their funds?
Seems like I read somewhere several colleges average about a 2%
ROI...pretty pass poor with what the market's doing.

those A&M numbers help explain why I saw "Succeed From The Union" bumper stickers the last time I was in C-Station

As an aggy I know wieners. That guy’s might as well be inverted.

Depends on what the endowment is for and the timeline on needing the earnings to be spent.
A lot are, and should be, conservative in nature. Harvard runs it's own endowment investment fund and just got crushed recently.
