I think Saquon Barkley is ridiculously overrated and will bust in the NFL.
He may be a starter somewhere or share the load. He's a TJ Yeldon type back.

Tell me about it. He wasn't that good, which is kind of the point of this thread. Some of yall act like he was the second coming of Jesus. Yay, he beat the mighty Saban in Tuscaloosa. Big fricking deal. That doesn't mean yall need to defend him years later.
Let me start this off by saying that I absolutely hate Johnny Manziel.
68.9% career completion pct, #1 SEC history, #9 in NCAA history
9.1 career Y/A, #4 SEC history, #13 NCAA history
164.1 Passing Efficiency Rating, #2 SEC history, #9 NCAA history
2012 - led the league in total yards, touchdowns responsible for, rushing yards, ypc, rushing tds, points, completion percentage, and completions
2013 - led the league in yards per play, touchdowns responsible for, passing efficiency rating, passing touchdowns, passing yards, completion percentage, and completions
I absolutely can't stand the guy but to say that "he wasn't that good" is absolutely ludicrous. He was an all-timer as a college quarterback.

I think he was referring to Mike Evans making JFFs throwing ability appear better than it was, not JFFs overall production.
That said, he is not all wrong. 30% of total pass yds were to Evans, and he had about a 3:1 TD to Int ratio.
However, that was not just M. Evans. aTm had a solid corps of WRs. Swopes was a big part of that pass offense, as were a handful of other speedy WRs and backs catching out of the backfield.
I think it would have been more correct to have said Evans (size/range), Swopes (all around) and an some speedsters who could turn a short passes into big gains coupled with an offense without a lot of game film for SEC Ds to breakdown made JFF seem better as a QB than he was as a passer.
However, more to the point, Manziel does not belong in this thread, as he shredded CFB. I think he was a phenomenal college athlete, but was the product of a system that didn't translate to the NFL

Clowney is the most overrated college football player EVER

Calling JFF a product of a system is one of the dumbest statements ever. JFF was the system.

You’d think they’d have figured that out by now. I mean just look at the drop off in offense post JFF.

I'm not sure how anyone could read my posts regarding JFF and come to the conclusion that I called him a system qb.

oh you said last 5 years
has Tennessee even had anyone drafted in the last 5 years?
1. Doubt OP is a Tennessee guy.
2. If you want to point to the most overrated Vol in the last five years it's none other than Jalen Hurd. He was a beast his sophomore year, albeit one that never had homerun speed, but his junior year a whisper could knock him over.

The problem is you calling him overrated. He's a POS, but he was a gamer in college. I agree Mike Evans' wingspan helped, but come on. He's certainly not THE most overrated in the past 5 years.
That, as I said on page 2 I think, is Jabrill Peppers.

So the player that was an All American. First round pick, had a thousand yard rookie season and will probably lead the league in playoff rushing is overrated.

For SEC
Loucheiz Purifoy and Marcus Roberson
Jake Locker most overrated player of the last ten years, or the super beast Aaron curry

How we’re all those rushing yards fluke plays? Did mike Evans make crazy blocks for him? Do you watch football ma’am?

Christian Hackenberg.
He was a 5 Star recruit out of high school and was listed as the 13th overall player by the 247 Composite, as well as the #2 QB in the country. Throughout his career at Penn State, it always seemed like I heard about him being the "best player in the country that was on a bad team." Yet, his stats are pretty mediocre and he never did anything significant in college.
No seasons with 3000 passing yards.
No seasons with a completion percentage over 60%.
Career TD to INT ratio (passing TD's only) - 48 : 31
Only 1 rushing TD
Overall W/L in college - 21-17

I think Hackenberg would have been better off had BOB stayed for his entire career.
Freshman year he did fairly well then fell off once Franklin came in and installed that offense.
And for all his suck in his last 2 years still got him to be a 2nd round pick.
