Can't agree with this. He put up some outstanding numbers, and arguably could have been invited to NY for Heisman consideration. Yes, he was promoted higher than that...but I think you can find more players who were promoted much higher with less results.
Sam Darnold jumps to my mind immediately from last season.
He was being pushed heavily for the Heisman Trophy going into this season and finished with 26 TD passes and 13 INTs. That is very poor production from a Heisman hyped individual.

Bama’s defense was gassed from being on the field so long because Kiffin wanted to continue airing it out with an inaccurate QB. That championship game made Elliott by default.

He had two sensational years years in College Sation. He was great to watch in College. Idk why you people think he was overrated. Maybe because you kno how he ended up, but he was not overrated in college. Go watch his highlight film. It's one of the best in CFB.
