Wow...you do realize you are giving Serraneaux words of affirmation there...right? It's either that, or you just aren't sure how English works.

Based on national titles, Tim Corbin is number one.

Jay has reloaded after a small rebuild from a loaded natty team (and one of our greatest natty teams at that).
And Tenner come to Baton Rouge to get their asses handed to them. The only question is if it will be a sweep or LSU shows mercy on Sunday.

College Baseball is the most unpredictable because in a short series, anything can happen.
State had better teams in 1984, 1985, 1989, 1992, 2016 than the 2021 team that won it all.
In fact only the’85 team with Clark, Palmeiro, Brantley and Thigpen (four future MLB all stars) even made it to the CWS where a broken ankle cost them the National Championship.
The other years, those teams lost in the Regional/SR’s.
It is hard to win a NC in baseball.
You have to have a really good ball club, some luck, some some favorable match ups, timely hitting and be playing your best baseball. Rarely does that all happen at the same time to a team.

That’s national champs Tennessee to you.
Remember when the biggest headlines in college baseball immediately following the CWS was how Texas stole TAMU's coach?

Tony"sweet tea"V... is an embarrassment to college baseball coaches. But hey, let every HC just throw bats at players.

Tennessee has been to the CWS finals 2 times. 1951 and 2024...so it isn't like Vitello stepped into a sleeping Giant situation. He made the CWS in his 4th season as a Head Coach (anywhere) and won the CWS in his 7th. How long did it take other coaches for their first CWS win?
Jay Johnson - 1st CWS in his 4th season as a HC (same as Vitello), won his first CWS Championship in his 11th season (4 longer than Vitello)
Mike Bianco - 1st CWS in his 17th year of coaching (13 more than Vitello), won his first CWS Championship in his 25th season (18 more than Vitello).
Chris Lemonis - 1st CWS in his 5th year of coaching (1 more than Vitello), won his first CWS Championship in his 7th season (same as Vitello).
Tim Corbin - 1st CWS in his 15th year of coaching (11 more than Vitello), won his first CWS Championship in his 18th season (11 more than Vitello).
Kevin O'Sullivan - 1st CWS in his 3rd year of coaching (1 less than Vitello), won his first CWS Championship in his 10th season (3 more than Vitello)
Ray Tanner - 1st CWS in his 15th season (11 more than Vitello), won his first CWS Championship in his 23rd season (16 more than Vitello).
Paul Mainieri - 1st CWS in his 8th season (4 more than Vitello), won his first CWS Championship in his 15th season (8 more than Vitello).
I can see why people on here don't like him.

State is certainly getting extra love in the rankings just for clicks.
Team could be good, but way too many unknowns.
We made a quick exit in regionals last year, and lost our three best hitters (the only starters that hit over 0.300 last year).
70% of our homeruns are gone.
Friday and Saturday night starters gone.
Our four highest inning RP's are gone, so we're returning I think less than 30% of innings pitched last year.
Too many unknowns for us to be ranked. We might have some studs emerge and be top tier. We could also have a 2023 repeat and be bottom of the barrel.

I don’t see it either with what they lost. I could see them being ranked and buy that but they’re in basically everyone’s top 10 and I don’t see that

A&M. No baseball team is good enough to deserve 41/50 votes from head coaches to win the title.
I am impressed with this aggy!

Gators were grossly overrated. Just fell flat immediately into SEC play.

You have been a busy poster since climbing back out from underneath the baseboard Friday. Glad to have you back. We get worried when you disappear after losses.

Series I most dread this year is having to watch the hogs go to Athens. This Georgia team can flat swing the bats. Never would have believed the Florida sweep until I saw it, and you needed a calculator to tally the Georgia runs.

Blows my mind that everyone on this board still thinks Serraneaux is actually a Tennessee fan
