Oof, that stings

But hats off, what is there to say. Dawgs are rolling. Give my middle nut to see Ohio State go back 2 back.

To say we weren't nationally relevant before Kirby is disingenuous.
But you really weren't. I'm not saying that to be disrespectful but it is the truth. Georgia was not a big deal on the national scene.

7/10 schools from the South.

Only 2/10 from the Midwest.

Buckl, in a nutshell, that talent gap is why the B10 is always inferior.

Didn't you guys lose to West Virginia in 07?

No, that was 2005 after we were fat and happy from the 2005 seccg. Be thankful you didn’t face that team as well. 2002-2007 were full of loaded uga teams.

I knew it was sometime in the mid-2000s.

Not sure but I believe we win.

Richt had several teams deep in the national conversation during the first half of his career. 2002 and 2007 could have won the titles that year, and were great cases for why we needed the 4 team playoff sooner.

Late 80's and the entire 90's? You're correct, we were in a dark place as a program. But Richt turned the ship around after 2001, he just never got over the final hump.

Surprised Georgia is so high as they are new to the national scene.

Georgia always has the talent....took them nearly 40 years to hire the right coach!

Odd number to start from but I'd say Alabama would top that list.

2008 is just as arbitrary as 2000. Humans just like big round numbers. Other than that, is there anything about 2000 that makes it a better year to start than 2008?

We should have more national titles. While I am proud of all our Buckeyes, this is more for discussion than a boast. Every team on this list should be proud of their program.

Michigan is the only team on the list that hasn't had a natty since 2000.

That's why you posted this, amiright?

I can live with losing narrowly to the best out of the SEC.

Losing to blue makes me want to effin puke.

It was the start of a new century. Not sure why to start a timeline with any other date without being biased.

Not sure you understand what arbitrary means. Since Julius Ceasar arbitrarily decided to start the calendar 2023 years ago to better align with lunar phases, you think it is odd to count the NFL drafts since 2008 instead of 2000. And since humans get irrationally giddy about years that end with 2 zeroes? Sorry but any year is as good as the next. There is no objective reason that using 2000 is any better or less "odd" than using 2008.

Imaging having all that talent and only beat an SEC team 3 times in school history.

Georgia has always had plenty of NFL talent. And they have always been good, but rarely great, since at least the late 70's when I began following SEC football. Occasionally they would have a mediocre season but those were rare. There were several years with Mark Richt they would have been in the CFP under today's format. So you really shouldn't be surprised.
