Judkins is super talented.

If he is happy away from the program, and he is a "cancer" to people around him, then best of luck on a new start.

Sometimes a change of environment/culture around a program is all that is needed. Win - Win for both sides.

I think QJ was venting to Mom and Mom took it upon herself to make the situation untenable. I doubt QJ told Mom to chill so she kept at it. Mom is very active on twitter and open in her support of her son so I imagine she will be adding her thoughts on all this pretty soon.

So, the deal is this:
1. OL sucked for us this year and he would berate the OL during the games and in the locker room. You could see him doing it all season during games, and it was creating an issue within the team.
2. The week of the Peach Bowl, he threw a fit about wanting more money (I have no idea if it was his family pushing for it so I'm not gonna say that's the case) and he was threatening to not play. He was asking for 1.3, but an agreement was made with him (lower than that amount) and he played.
3. During the bowl game, he was really running his mouth and Dart even had enough of it and asked Lane to sub someone else in for Judkins.
4. Lane was already frustrated at the amount of NIL money that Judkins was given (and had said so already) because he believes RB's are easily replaceable.
5. He had already lost his teammates (go back and watch the Peach Bowl where his own players wouldn't even help him up when he extended a hand to them).
6. I think I remember his mom deleting anything Ole Miss related on Twitter after the end of his freshman season. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that. But, he got a major bump in NIL pay after that.

The kid is ultra talented, and obviously would love to have him back. I don't know him nor his family, so I'm not gonna point fingers at his family or anything like that. His attitude was something that was discussed all season on the Ole Miss board and might have been why Auburn nor Alabama went after him.

At the end of the day, Lane told him to hit the portal. He did the same with telling Trigg and Marshall to go pound sand. I wish him the best.

You're correct on this. Can't remember when it was but there was a big deal about his mom and himself removing OM stuff from his account.

OM’s OC apparently doesn’t share this sentiment

How much would Etienne have gotten if he waited and went to Ole Miss?

Nobody said they didn’t wish it worked out. Just said we can live without him.

Losing Judkins hurts, no doubt about it. Very good RB. However, it seemed like Bentley was a more effective back this season. Different running style, for sure, but he just seemed more effective.

It'll be interesting to see where he lands; hopefully outside the league. He has run at Ole Miss with at least another good RB option, so it'll also be interesting to see what he does when he's really the only RB option.

College football isn't just about roster management, it's now also about payroll management. We can't pay $1M+ for a RB; they're just not worth it. Even Judkins, who is great, was the 25th RB in the nation by yardage. If we overpay for Judkins, that means we can't pay for things like OL, which is probably a higher priority.

Hate to see him go, wish him the best, but it sounds like this parting was probably in the best interests of everyone involved.

Even Ray Charles can see that.

Yea not happening. His discussion with "Friends and Family" told him to come home and get more money.

He will play for an Alabama school next season. Most likely Auburn.

Our OC is definitely gonna go out of his way to shite talk an outgoing RB, right?

Weird that Judkins got 3 times as many carries. You would think Lane would play the better back. And then when all of this is going down for the bowl game Judkins get 34 carries and Bentley gets 3.

Well, Bentley was in a walking boot after the peach bowl so I assume there was an injury there.

If he goes to Bama or Auburn we won’t have to play him unless we go to the sec championship or playoff so I’m fine with that.

I didn't know that. That would be a good reason not to use Bentley.

ETA: Judkins may find out that nobody wants to pay what he wants to be paid. Hopefully he was already in contact with a team before he decided to enter the portal.

I thought coaches weren’t involved in NIL allocations?
